4 competitionsPlanning Your Competition Season
A well-planned competition season helps you peak at the right times and avoid burnout. Most athletes compete in 3-6 events per year, spacing them out every 6-8 weeks to allow for proper training blocks between events.
Start your season with a smaller, local competition to shake off the nerves and identify areas for improvement. Mid-season, target events that match your goals—whether that's qualifying for a bigger competition, testing yourself in a team format, or simply having fun with your gym community. End your season with your "A" event: the competition you've been building toward all year.
Use this calendar to plan ahead. Bookmark events you're interested in, register early (popular competitions sell out fast), and build your training program around your competition dates.
Season Planning Tips
- Space competitions 6-8 weeks apart
- Start with a local warm-up event
- Register early for popular events
- Build training around comp dates
- Save your peak for your "A" event
