Location:

·  Crossfit Pleasanton

Registration:

·  Registration is now open

Teams and Division:

This Competition is a Partner competition with One male and one female making up a team. There is no age group as this is all based on ability standards of the USFA. Both athletes must be of the same ability. See below for more details.

Divisions and Standards:

Strength is of your 1RM, not weights that you will see in Workouts.

Rookie:

Gymnastics: Athletes will be doing banded pull-ups and assisted push-ups. The higher level of Rookie, Rookie +, would be able to do a few pull-ups, but would be doing no more than 3 in a met-con.

Strength: The Deadlift is the test for this category and the weights would be:

Men 110 lbs. to 210 lbs., Ladies 75lbs to 175lbs

Other: Athletes will be asked to do wallballs to 10’ and 9’ targets, but with lighter balls. There will not be too much advanced barbell work.

Challenger:

Gymnastics: Lower levels of the Challenger Division are able to do pull-up toes to bar. Higher levels, Challenger +, can do pull-ups in good form and capacity, toes to bar, and can do some chest to bar at a limited capacity.  Challenger + will be able to complete handstand pushups.

Strength: The Clean will be the testing movement and weight would be:

 Men 180 to 230, Ladies 130 to 175

Other: All barbell movements will be required, but weights will be on the lighter side from standards.

Competitor:

Gymnastics:  Athletes can complete chest-to-bar and handstand pushups. The higher side of the division, Competitor +, will be able to complete a decent capacity of bar and ring muscle ups and have the ability to do strict handstand pushups.

Strength: This Clean will be the testing movement and the weights would be:

 Men 235 to 315, Ladies 180 to 225

Other: This would be your RX to RX+ level.  Meeting all standards the weights and movements will be required.

Divisions Placement:

This is going to be the first competition to use the USFA (United States Fitness Association) division standards. The USFA has set out to make functional fitness competitions fair and balanced across the country. The testing system and divisions make competing more enjoyable and rewarding for everyone involved. The online qualifier is using three of the test workouts put out by the USFA to make sure athletes are in the correct division based on ability, not age or other arbitrary metrics. This means all competitors in each division will be tested to ensure they are participating at the correct fitness and skill level. If you test too well for a division (i.e. too fit or skilled), you will be bumped up automatically to the appropriate division. You will have the choice of which division you register for, however, the final division status will be up to the organizers. This needs to start happening for the health of our sport and all the athletes involved. We will be taking the top 5 teams from the 6 subdivisions of the three main divisions of the USFA: Rookie, Challenger, and Competitor (CrossFit equivalent to Rookie, Scaled, and RX). We will be running an Elite Competition later this year. Divisions will be:
