About This Competition

Get ready for the 6th Annual Cupid's Revenge co-ed crossfit Competition on February 10th. 
Cupid's Revenge VI: Love is a Battlefield is back for 2018! All teams must be coed teams of two, and like last in years past, there will be THREE divisions: RX'd for those who's pairs of competitors who are looking to get all hot and sweaty and end up in a heap on the floor together, a scaled division for those who just want to get to know each other better, and a 40+ MASTERS DIVISION. 

This year we are moving venues to Farmdale Elementary School, which is a brand new building, brand new gym and brand new rubberized non-slip  floors for all the burpees and sit ups and box jumps and lifting and…. You will be able to bring all your own food in all your own coolers, as well as purchase from the vendors who will be set up during the day, 

Like previous years, we'll have 4 WODs (ok, 3 WODs and a big lift) with a 4th championship heat for the top three teams in each division, and the team members will have to work together to complete each WOD. The WOD's are both very challenging for all the competitors, but also fun for anyone who would like to participate. 

The cost is $125/team. That get's every competitor a shirt and some great prizes for the winners. Registration is live now!

WOD 1 "Build Me Up, Buttercup"

You will have 8 minutes to establish a 1RM (4 minutes/team member) of the following barbell complex...

Rx: Snatch, Hang Snatch, OHS
Scaled/Masters: Clean, Hang Clean, S2O

You may power or squat the lifts, and the hang can be from any position as long as it is below your hips and off the floor.

The bar must start empty for player 1, both of you may load the bar. The bar may be loaded for player 2. AS long as you have started the lift by the time the 8 minutes runs out, you may finish the complex.

If the bar hits the floor, that will be a no rep. However, if you miss the 2nd or 3rd part of the complex you may try again, as long as the bar doesn't hit the floor. You cannot move on to the next part of the complex until you complete the part you are on.

WOD 2 - "If I Could Turn Back Time"

With an 8 minute clock:

Splitting the work any way you want as long as each player does at least one rep of each movement....

60 Calorie Row
50 OH Lunge step (35# rx’d, 15# scaled/masters)
40 hand release push ups
30 box jump overs (24”rx’d/20”scaled and masters)
20 atomic sit-ups (35# rx’d, 15# scaled/masters)
10 pistols (rx’d) 20” 1 leg box step ups (scaled/masters)
Max double unders (rx) or one leg jumps (scaled/masters) in the remaining time

If you do not finish, each rep left undone adds one second to your time.

If you get to the jump rope, each double under or one leg jump subtracts one second from your score.

So you can literally turn the clock back....

WOD 3 - "You're My Wonderwall"

With an 8 minute clock:
Starting each round with 1 partner carry...

Then each partner completes
2 wall balls (partner A, B)
2 burpees (partner A, B)

4, 6, 8, 10, 12...

Couple must complete 100' partner carry before increasing wall ball and burpee reps.

Partner carry (Rx/Scaled/Masters - 100')
Wall Balls (Rx 20/14, Scaled/Masters 14/10)

WOD 4 - “Love Hurts”

4 rounds for time. 12 minute time cap.

12 KB swings (partner A)
12 KB sings (partner B)
12 KB goblet squats (partner A)
12 KB goblet squats (partner B)
12 KB clean and jerk (partner A)
12 KB clean and jerk (partner B)

Each partner must hold the kettlebell the whole time. If the kettlebell touches the ground, the penalty is 4 synchro burpees.

RX: female KB - 16kg, male KB - 24kg

Masters/Scaled: female KB - 12kg, male KB - 20kg
