About This Competition

CHIMERA TRIALS

Mixed Pairs Competition | June


Chimera Trials is our next evolution of competition at CrossFit Chimera.


This is a mixed-sex pairs competition, open to both RX and Scaled athletes, designed to test more than just engine or strength.


Across the day, you’ll be tested as a team and as an individual, rewarding well-rounded athletes who can work together, adapt, and perform under pressure.


Expect the same high-energy setup you’ve come to expect from our comps:

  • Loud music
  • Big atmosphere
  • Well-thought-out workouts
  • Clear standards
  • Podium prizes on the line


There will be 3 workouts, no fluff, no filler.

Each workout will challenge a different aspect of fitness and teamwork, with moments where you’ll rely on your partner and moments where you’ll need to stand on your own.


This is a proper competition, but still true to what Chimera is about — community, effort, and pushing boundaries. Overcome your limits.

  • Mixed-sex pairs
  • RX and Scaled divisions
  • 3 workouts
  • Team elements and individual elements
  • Podium prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
  • Clear movement standards for each division

MOVEMENT STANDARDS (OVERVIEW)

Below is a high-level overview of the movements you can expect in each division. Exact weights, reps, and workout details will be released closer to the event.

Olympic lifts at moderate to heavy loads

Cleans, Snatches, Deadlifts

Overhead work

Scaled

Lighter barbell loads

Power variations

Dumbbell or kettlebell options where appropriate


MONOSTRUCTURAL

Same movements

Reduced distances or volumes


TEAM / INDIVIDUAL TESTING
