About This Competition

Welcome to the SGV Throwdown 2024!

We want to thank you for choosing this long time fitness event! The SGV Thorowdown is one of the most popular fitness competitions in the San Gabriel Valley. Bringing you a full day of intense fun competition. Grab your favorite workout partner and sign up today!

Qualifiying Rules: We ask that you please make sure to sign up for a division that best suits you. If you are an elite athlete please refrain from signing up for our intermediate division. Stay true to the workoloads and your capabilities. If you need to change divisons or make changes in general please email us so we can approve them.

  • ADVACED COED
    • Has competed in Advanced before or has a top 5 placing in Intermediate Division  
  • CO-ED
    • Never placed top 5 in Intermediate Division or recently started competing 
  • MASTER
    • meet age requirements 

Refund and Substitutions Policy: We will not give any refunds. We will allow for subsitutions or team changes due to unforseen events. If this is the case we ask that you please notify us as soon as possible so changes can be made promptly.

Workouts

Once WOD 2A end at the 13min time CAP 

There will be a mandatory 1 min rest. 

At the 14min Time mark athletes will begin WOD 2B 

Partner 1: 1 min of toes to bar
Partner 2: 1 min of Handstand Push Ups

* The reason it is called coin flip is because either athlete can choose to do TTB or HSPU 

*Your score will be both TTB and HSPU added up together 

* Base your decision on which athlete will perform best at that specific movement 

6min Running Clock 

Both Parterns will have 4 minutes to find a 1 Rep max Clean n Jerk

HERES THE CATCH! 

Each partner will only be given 2 attempts 

*you are allowed to pre load the bar with your first attmempt

*it does not matter what order partners go in

IMPORTANT

When the 4 min mark hits you will have 2 min to change the weight to your specfiic weight for WOD 1B 

The judge will let you know the weight for your division but the judge cannot touch your weights and is not responsible for any mistake. 

At the 6 minute mark from WOD 1A) A new clock will be started for WOD 2A

IMPORTANT:

-there will be a total of 30 reps that must be performed for each section 

-the moment that must be done for the reps to count will be specific to female/male

- Example female can perform all 10 initial reps as squat snatches OR the male can perform all 10 reps as thrusters. Etc.

  • This workout is for time 
  • The Faster you are able to complete the workout the more rest you will have fo the next portion 
  • At minute 13 all athletes must rest for 1min before WOD2B
  • If you do not finish before the time cap total reps will be counted for your score
