Battle of the North - Finals 2024
About This Competition
Qualifier
The workouts need to be done individually and are the same for all divisions. The workouts do not need to be done at the same day.
The qualifier workouts will be released on Aug 22nd 2024 08:00PM CET at Competition Corner. The online qualifier consists of three workouts per athlete. All scores should be submitted via Competition Corner before Sunday Sept 15th 2024 08:00PM CET
Participating
Every athlete in the world is allowed to join the qualifier of the Battle of the North. Athletes younger than 18 need to show permission of their parents to join. There are 8 divisions in the competition:
- Solo Elite Male
- Solo Elite Female
- Solo Master 35+ Male
- Solo Master 35+ Female
- Duo M/M
- Duo M/F
- Duo F/F
- Squad MMFF
There is only one level to play: Rx. There will not be a scaled version of the workouts. Masters need to be 35 years old at Oct 19th 2024.
Qualifier Tickets
There is a discount if you buy your ticket before the workout release.
Solo: €20 before / €25 after release
Duo: €37,50 before / €45 after release
Squad: €70 before / €85 after release

Finals
The finals will be at Oct 19 & 20 2024 @ Sportcentrum Valkenhuizen, Arnhem NL
SOLO
- The top 16 Elite Male & Female will proceed to the Elite A-division and compete on both days.
- The #17-32 Elite Male & Female will proceed to the Elite B-division and compete on Saturday.
- The top 16 Masters Male & Female will proceed to the finals and compete on Saturday.
DUO
- The top 32 duo’s in each category will proceed to the finals and compete on Sunday.
SQUAD
- The top 16 squads will proceed to the finals and compete on Sunday.
All athletes and teams will receive a personalized T-Shirt and Nametag and have free access to the venue on both days.
Tickets
Athlete ticket: €80 (Solo B + Masters), €120 (Solo A), €160 (Duo), €300 (Squad).

Refund Policy & Covid-19
To participate in the online qualifier and finals, athletes need to buy a ticket via Competition Corner. There is a no-refund policy for both tickets. We know that we live in a Covid-19 phase. If the government states that we cannot host the event, we will aim to move the finals. If we need to cancel, all bought tickets minus administration costs will be refunded. If you are an athlete competing from outside The Netherlands, and you are not allowed to travel to Arnhem, we do not offer a refund.

FLOW
The athlete may load the barbell before the 5 minutes start.
Athlete starts at starting mat
At 0:00 the athlete may walk up to the bar and perform a snatch. Athletes may go up and down in weight and do as many attempts as they like.
The lift must be started before the 5:00 mark to count.
MOVEMENT STANDARDS:
SNATCH: Starts with both plates on the floor. Athlete lifts the bar to overhead in one fluent motion. Ends with the barbell straight above the body, elbows, hips and knees fully extended, both feet under the hips. Athlete must show control before dropping the bar. Knees may not touch the floor. Athlete may not walk off the 2m2 “platform” during the lift.
