About This Competition
CGFIT Newcastle is a team-based functional fitness competition designed to challenge, motivate and bring people together.
Taking part in teams of four or doubles, you’ll move through a series of structured workouts that test strength, endurance, teamwork and coordination in a high-energy and supportive environment.
Each team will take on three timed workouts, working together to complete reps, cover distance and support one another through every challenge. CGFIT is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all fitness levels - whether you train regularly, compete in fitness events, or simply want to take on a new challenge with friends, family or colleagues.
More than just a competition, CGFIT is about shared achievement. It’s an opportunity to train together, work as a team and experience the buzz of event day alongside a growing community of participants all working toward the same goal.

Workouts
Workouts may be refined before the event
2000m Row OR 2000m Ski / 1000m Run
The two competitors will complete the workout for time. The workout is performed in segments, alternating between the erg and the run.
Workout Flow:
Start: One athlete starts on the Row or the Ski Erg. (Team's choice)
The Segments: The workout is completed in 500m segments on one of the ergs.
After an athlete completes a 500m segment on the erg of their choice, one must immediately complete a 250m Run.
The athletes can split the distance on the Erg anyway they would like.
The Final Run: Once the entire 2000m Row OR 2000m Ski is completed, BOTH athletes will run the remaining 250m together.
Finish: The time for the workout is recorded when the final team member crosses the designated finish line.

TC AMRAP 20 MINUTES
15 Synchro Burpees (all team members must complete 15 burpees, synchro = chest to floor) Please see movement standards for synchro burpees to ensure you are complying with the standard.
2 athletes to complete the following:
20 Reverse Lunges
15 KB Swings 12kg
20 Plate GTOH 15kg
15 Dual DB Thrusters 7.5kg
4 x 10m Farmers Carry 16kg
10 Synchro burpees (all team members)
This AMRAP can be split any way between the 2 athletes.
Score = Total Reps of the AMRAP
Workouts may be refined before the event
Between the team members you must achieve 100 cals on the assault bike. Once you have completed the cals and this is verified by your judge, team members one at a time will then complete sandbag to shoulder. 20kg Sandbags.
The score for this workout is the total amount of synchro sandbag to shoulder reps achieved within the remaining time once the 100 cals have been completed on the assault bike.
