Join us for the Rally for ValorFit, a charity fitness competition dedicated to supporting ValorFit and honoring our veterans. This donation-only event is designed to bring our community together for a day of fitness, camaraderie, and fun.

Workout Structure
Hero WODs:
Donny: A challenging workout honoring U.S. Army Specialist Donald L. Nichols.
Emily: A tribute to Second Lieutenant Emily Jazmin Tatum Perez, focusing on sprinting and bodyweight movements.
Holleyman: A high-volume WOD honoring Staff Sergeant Aaron N. Holleyman, consisting of wall balls, handstand push-ups, and power cleans.
Each workout will be adapted to accommodate teams, weather, equipment, and space. While we plan to allow everyone to complete the workouts, if we receive a large number of teams, we may need to cap each workout at 15 minutes to ensure everyone gets a chance to participate.
Community Participation
This event is not just for our members; the community is invited to join us! Whether you can only participate in one workout, come to cheer on others, or simply want to share in the atmosphere with a drink, we welcome everyone to make this day a memorable one.

Don’t forget that the ValorFit Games will take place the day before, on November 9th. If you’re able, we encourage you to attend this fantastic event and show your support for our veterans!
What to Bring
If you plan to stay for the entire day, please bring what you need to ensure your comfort and enjoyment during the event.

"Donny"

U.S. Army Specialist Donald L. "Donny" Nichols, 21, was from Shell Rock, Iowa, and served in the Iowa Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry Regiment, based in Waterloo.
He tragically lost his life on April 13, 2011, in Laghman Province, Afghanistan, due to wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device attack.
In honor of Specialist Nichols' service and sacrifice, CrossFit developed the "Donny" Hero WOD.
This is for time with a 15 min Time Cap. This workout consists of:

"emily"

The "Emily" Hero WOD honors Second Lieutenant Emily Jazmin Tatum Perez, the first African American female officer in U.S. military history to die in combat. On September 12, 2006, at 23 years old, Lt. Perez was killed in Iraq when her Humvee was struck by an improvised explosive device while leading a convoy through Al Kifl.
A 2005 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Lt. Perez was an exceptional athlete, excelling in sprinting, gymnastics, and squats. Her favorite movements included sprinting, double-unders, pull-ups, squats, and power cleans.
This workout reflects Lt. Perez's athleticism and the physical demands of her service. It was originally posted on the CrossFit Main Site as the workout of the day for Sunday, September 10, 2017.

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Aaron N. Holleyman, 27, from Glasgow, Montana, was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, based in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. On August 30, 2004, he was killed in Khutayiah, Iraq, when his military vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He is survived by his daughters Shelby and Erin, son Zachary, parents Ross and Glenda, and siblings Kelly and Daniel.
In honor of his service and sacrifice, CrossFit developed the "Holleyman" Hero WOD. This workout consists of 30 rounds for time, each round comprising:
5 Wall Ball Shots (20/14 lb)
3 Handstand Push-Ups
1 Power Clean (225/155 lb)
This totals 150 Wall Ball Shots, 90 Handstand Push-Ups, and 30 Power Cleans. The "Holleyman" WOD is known for its high volume and intensity, challenging athletes both physically and mentally.
