About This Competition

In 2024, we will be celebrating the 4th edition of the Tournament Capital Classic. We are dedicated to providing an exciting and enjoyable experience for athletes of all skill levels, with the goal of becoming the "can't miss" Mixed Pairs competition in Western Canada.

DATES

  • March 30th: Registration Opens
  • May 1st: Early Bird Deadline (before then recieves FREE athlete shirt/tank and a $25 Gift Card to Born Primitive
  • July 28th: Registration Deadline OR when spaces sell out (whatever comes first). Also the last day to change Divisions if necessary.
  • Workouts will be released throughout June

WHAT'S INCLUDED ... HOW MANY WORKOUTS?

  • A minimum of 5 workouts will be performed by each team.
  • Swag Bag for all participants
  • Grand Prize for 1st Place in Each Division
  • Awards for podium in all Divisions
  • Cash Prizes (total purse TBA)
  • Professional photos will be available for purchase after the event

REFUND POLICY

There will be NO refunds on registration, so once you register, you’re in! You will not get a refund if you get hurt or become otherwise unable to compete, but you can transfer your registration. Insurance can be purchased during registration.

Establish a 1RM Clean

Clean can be Squat or Power, athlete choice on any attempt.

Event 3 and 4 Timeline are linked on the same clock. Upon completion of Event 3 athletes will walk over to their platform lanes. Teams that are done before the TimeCap are permitted to begin “Freelance Lifting” even if that starts before 6:00. During “Freelance” Lifting athletes will have unlimited attempts to build/hit a Max Clean. Athletes will then have two 15-second “Spotlight” Attempts as per the timer in the movement standards PDF. Athletes are advised to hit successful reps at lower weights before “going for it” later in the timeline. The Team’s score will be the combined total of the heaviest successful lift done by each partner.

  • EVENT 2 IS AN OUTDOOR EVENT AND WILL BE RUN REGARDLESS OF WEATHER CONDITIONS. IN THE CASE OF SMOKE AFFECTING AIR QUALITY, AN ALTERNATIVE INDOOR EVENT WILL BE CREATED AND RUN AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF THE EVENT DIRECTOR*
