About This Competition

 

Prize purse: 11000 EUR

Plovdiv Throwdown 2021 is a three-day online fitness competition, for beginners and advanced athletes with the goal of bringing together people from all over the world to compete in the spirit of fitness and fun. 560 athletes will earn their spot in the finals, through the online qualifiers. 3 Workouts for 3 weeks will test your fitness, only the fittest will qualify, to compete in the finals. Join our event, full of spectacular challenges and remarkable athletes that you will not forget!

The Plovdiv Throwdown is a fitness competition organized by MoVe Team and WLC “Factor Plovdiv” (Organization). The 4th edition will be held online, which means that the athletes will be required to perform all fitness tests either at home or at a suitable facility where they can find the necessary equipment. The Final round will be held from 22 to 24 October 2021. During these 3 days, contestants will be required to perform 6 fitness tests and upload their video links on the Plovdiv Throwdown 2021 platform.

Early birth Fee - 10 Euro ( from 15th of July to 30th of July

DIVISIONS DESCRIPTION:

ELITE

You train regularly and you feel experienced in functional training, you have participated in competitions and you want to measure strength against the best athletes, so this is your category.

By competing in it you will have the opportunity to test your physical skills against the best of the best. After qualifying, the top 60 in men and the top 40 in women will qualify for the finals of Plovdiv Throwdown 2021. The category is open to all.

You should be able to do :

INTERMEDIATE

You train regularly, you take part in competitions and you perform all movements of functional fitness, but in training you have to scale, so this is your category. The finals will qualify the top 60 in men and the top 40 in women.

You should be able to do :

·        Clean and Jerk 1.2x bodyweight

·        Snatch 0.75x bodyweight

·        OHS 0.75x bodyweight

·        HSPU

·        Bar Muscle up

·        Toes to bar

·        Double Unders

·        3’30″/4’10 » 1000m Row

SCALED

You train regularly and want to try a race. If your goal is to get better and go beyond your abilities, then this is your category. The workouts will be scaled and accessible to all. The finals will be top 80 for men and top 60 for women.

MASTERS

Our Masters categories are open to all. Workouts will vary depending on whether you are 35-39 or 40+. Get ready to test yourself for all the usual movements in functional fitness.

We will have Masters 35-39, Masters 40+
In the 35-39 category, the top 60 in men and the top 40 in women will qualify for the finals and in the 40+ category – 40 for men and 20 for women.

TEEN RX 20-

This category is for athletes who have a long-term development plan and are under 20. The number of workouts will be the same as in Elite, but the loads will be scaled for that category. The finals will be the top 40 boys and the top 20 girls.

You should be able to do:

·        Bar Muscle ups

·        Clean and Jerk 1.3x Bw

·        Snatch 1x Bw

·        OHS 1x Bw

·        Hspus

·        Alternating pistols

This workout begins with the athletes standing in front of the dumbbell. At the count of 3…2...1 go, the athletes will have 6 minutes to complete as many reps as possible of 8 - Bar muscle-ups and 14 – Alternating dumbbell snatches.  The first part of the workout is over when the timer reaches 6 minutes. The score is the total number of repetitions completed for these 6 minutes. The second part begins immediately after the end of the amrap, when the timer reaches 6 minutes. In the second part the athletes will have 4 minutes to complete successful unbroken 1 – Squat clean, 1 – Hang squat clean, 1 – Front squat, 1 – Thruster. Athletes can do as many attempts as they like within this 4 minutes. The score is the heaviest weight lifted. This workout has a tiebreaker, which is the total number of repetition completed in the first part.

    Description

This workout begins with the athletes facing the wall.  At the count of 3…2...1 go, the athletes will have 13 minutes to complete as many reps as possible of  50 Handstand push-ups, 100 – Double unders, 50 – Calories row, for the male athletes, 40 calories for the female athletes,  100 – Double unders, 50 – Wall ball shots, 100 – Double unders. The workout is over when the athletes reaches 13 minutes. The score is the total number of repetitions completed for these 13 minutes.

Handstand push-ups

Divisions: Elite – male / female, Masters – 35+ Male / female – Strict handstand push-ups

Divisions: Intermediate – male / female, Masters 40+ male / female, Teens – boys / girls – Kipping handstand push-ups

Divisions: Scaled – male / female – Pike push-ups 60cm box – male 50 cm box female.

Double unders

Divisions: Elite – male / female, Masters – 35+ / 40+ male / female, Intermediate – male / female,

1 minute rest between sets

    Description

This workout begins with the athletes standing in front of the barbell. At the count of 3…2...1 go, the athletes will have 2 minutes to complete one round of 10 overhead squats and 20 toes to bars, in the remaining time the athletes have to do as many reps as possible of burpee box jump overs. When the timer reaches 2 minutes the athletes will have 1 minute to recover and start the next set of 2 minutes. The athletes have to complete 4 sets of 2 minutes with 1 minutes pause between. The workout is over when the timer reaches 11 minutes. The score is the total number of completed burpee box jump overs for all of the sets.

Divisions Elite Male, Masters 35+ male – 60kg (135 lbs)

Divisions Masters 40+ male, Intermediate Male, Teen boys – 50kg (115 lbs)

Divisions: Scaled Male – 40kg (90 lbs)
