How does the competition work?
Athletes will have the whole weekend to complete 2 complex’s. The final score will be the heaviest successful weight for both complex’s combined. As this is a complex all reps must be performed without the bar coming to a deadstop on the floor. ANY ATTEMPTS THAT ARE NOT PERFORMED AS A COMPLEX WILL NOT BE COUNTED.
Complex 1:
1 Snatch Deadlift
1 Snatch
1 Hang Snatch
1 Snatch Balance
1 Overhead Squat
Complex 2:
1 Clean
1 Jerk
1 Back Squat
1 Jerk (from behind the neck)
1 Front Squat
The Rules
Complex 1:
Must be performed as a complex, barbell cannot come to a deadstop on the floor at anytime during the attempt.
Athletes must show complete lock out and control over the barbell at the end of each rep, with the knees, hips, and arms extended and stacked over the feet.
Straps CAN be used for complex 1.
Complex 2:
Must be performed as a complex, barbell cannot come to a deadstop on the floor at anytime during the attempt.
Jerks can be split, power or squat. Athletes must show complete lock out and control over the barbell at the end of the rep, with the knees, hips, and arms extended and stacked over the feet.
Press out IS allowed in the Jerk.
Weight Categories
Athletes must submit a timestamped video filmed via WeTime of the official weigh in before first video is filmed.
Weighing in can be done at the gym before your attempt or at home on the morning of filming first video.
Athletes are required to weigh in on camera and have this clearly visible at all times.
The weigh in does not need to be completed in lifters, knee sleeves, or any other accessories - these can be added post weigh in.
Terms and Conditions
Athletes are required to weigh in.
Bodyweight will be rounded up to the nearest KG. For example: a bodyweight of 74.3kg will be rounded up to 75kg.
Athletes can perform the complex’s in any order over the course of the competition period, eg complex 2 on day 1 and complex 1 on day 2.
Workout can start with a loaded barbell, but all plates must be stripped after the final successful attempt before the recording stops. This is for weight verification. (Note: This can be done after the timer stops - see WeTime run through on Disord for an example of this).
Athletes must state the weight of their attempt to the camera before attempting a complex. This is a requirement for both complex’s.
Athletes must only use one bar for all lifts.
Athletes must use clips for all attempts.
Athletes must change their own weights.
If using LBS, please convert your score to KG and round up to the nearest KG.
Scores ran through special formulas that take into account gender and bodyweight, meaning that there is an even playing field across the board.
Our goal is to make weightlifting competitions a little more fun: you can wear whatever you like! No requirements for outfits or singlets!
Recording & Competition Entry
In order to take part, competitors are required to use the app ‘WeTime’.
(If you don’t already have this, you can download the app here: https://wetime.io/)
Once you have the app, you can find “The Barbell Club” on the home screen. This will give you access to our personal timers.
The competition will be split into 2 parts recorded over 2 separate videos (one for the complex 1, and one for complex 2). You will also have to upload a separate weigh in video (filmed on wetime) during score submission.
Athletes must use WeTime to record all videos as the TLZ Judges will be using the timestamp connected to the videos to verify that both videos were recorded during the competition period.
Any competition entries outside of the competition window will automatically be disqualified and not considered.
Athletes must include a time stamped video showing each individual weight and clip or collar on one side of the barbell so that the correct weight can be confirmed by the judging panel.
Once you have completed your competition entry, all of your videos must be uploaded to YouTube or a video streaming service and set to ‘unlisted’ or ‘public’ for review. Or using a Wetime video link.
All submissions must be uploaded by Monday 15th May 5am GMT (9pm Sunday California Time) (4pm Monday Sydney Time)
To win the prize you must have an active subscription.
You may compete as a guest on the free trial but you will be unable to win a prize.
