About This Competition

CrossFit Barboursville Frost Fight 2 is our second annual Team Competition at CrossFit Barboursville. New this year, teams can be comprised of any combination of M/F, M/M or F/F pairs.  Just like last year, this event is a classic CrossFit style competition with three divisions, Rx, Intermediate and Scaled.  All teams will compete in 4 scored WODs with the top 4 teams in each division advancing to a Finals event.

It's going to be cold outside, grab a partner and bring the heat inside for a day filled with competitive fitness with some of the best in the Tri-State.

DIVISION STANDARDS

The movements listed in the descriptions are just examples and not limited to just those movements.

  • Rx - Division standards look very similar to the CrossFit Open.  Athletes in the RX division should be able to perform movements like Bar Muscle-Ups, C2B Pull-Ups, TTB, HSPU, DU's, Rope Climbs, all DB and KB movements, etc.  Athletes should also be able to complete the below barbell movements at the weights listed for multiple reps:

Deadlift - 225/155
Front Squat - 185/135
Clean & Jerk - 155/105
Power Snatch - 135/95
Thruster - 95/65

  • Intermediate - Division standards similar to/on the cusp of the Rx division.  Athletes in the Intermediate division most likely excel in some facets of Rx workouts but haven't quite mastered all movements/prescribed weights.  At least one (or both) of your teammates should be mostly proficient in C2B, TTB, HSPU (to an abmat), DU’s, Rope Climbs, all DB and KB movements, etc.  Expect Barbell, DB and KB movements to be 75-90+% of Rx weights.

  • Scaled - Division standards similar to the Open Scaled standards.  For athletes that havent quite mastered most gymnastic movements and typically scale the weight in a standard workout.  Lighter weights and less technical movements does not mean an easier workout however.  Intensity will be high, and Scaled athletes will be held to the same movement standards as the Rx and Intermediate divisions.  Expect but not limited to - Pull-Ups, Knee Raises, Single Unders, Ring Rows, and all DB and KB movements.   Expect Barbell, DB and KB movements to be 50-75% of Rx weights.
