About This Competition

Welcome to Hardbat Athletics' Winter In-House Competition!

This competition is for active Hardbat Athletics members only (both class and personal training members). 

We will have two divisions and we highly recommend pairing up with someone of comparable skill level (not necessarily strength!)

Our divisions are based on your Level Method level. If you generally do workouts as Purple or Brown, you should sign up in the Purple/Brown division. If you generally do workouts as Yellow, Orange, or Blue, you should sign up in the Yellow/Orange/Blue division. Workouts will be released soon, allowing you to pick your division more accurately.

There is a $40 sign-up fee ($20/per person) and you will receive a t-shirt for participation! 

Friends, family, and non-participating members are all allowed to spectate! The proceeds of this event are going to a multiple sclerosis fundraiser. Spectating does not cost anything but any donations will gladly be accepted.

If you've never done a competition before, be prepared for multiple workouts and a lot of sweating! Bring a lot of snacks, fluids, electrolytes, etc. A heat schedule will be released after all teams are in; the last day to sign up is November 20th.

Three workouts will be completed as a pair and scored. We will find the top 3 winners of each division based on the scores of the three workouts.

Parking will be in the usual parking lot, however overflow parking will be on the sides of the building. 

Lastly, since it's the holiday season, we will have a holiday party afterward! Feel free to hang around, drink, be merry, and bring any fun snacks to celebrate a long day of fitness.

Workouts

WORKOUT 1: 

Athletes will have 10 minutes to establish a four-rep-max front squat.

The score is the total weight lifted between two partners. The front squats will be taken from the rack (not the floor). Athletes can attempt as many times as necessary. If a weight is failed, weight may be removed from the bar and repeated.

10 Clean and Jerks (155/105)
20 Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees
40 TTB
80/65 Cal Row (resting partner must hold the barbell in the front rack position)
40 TTB
20 Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees
10 Clean and Jerks (155/105)

TTB, Clean and Jerks, and row can be broken up between partners. Both partners do all 20 burpees, and the resting partner must have a bar in the front rack position before working partner rows during each transition. Partners must clean the barbell up into the rack position. 

For time:

15 Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees
30 Hanging Knee Tucks
60/45 Cal Row (resting partner must hold the barbell in the front rack position)
30 Hanging Knee Tucks
15 Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees
10 Clean and Jerks 95/65

Knee Tucks, Clean and Jerks, and row can be broken up between partners. Both partners do all 20 burpees, and the resting partner must have bar in the front rack before working partner rows during each transition. Partners must clean the barbell up into the rack position.
