About This Competition

CrossFit Vex 1st Annual Battle in the Valley. This competition is unlike any other you have seen. Workouts and scores will be based on a percentage of individual and team body weight.

Layout: The competition is coed with two divisions; Rx and Open. Both teams must have one male and one female athlete. All athletes must be over the age of 18 on the day of the competition.

Refunds: Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds, but you are allowed to substitute competitors on the team as long as the team remains in the original division it registered for.

Workouts: There will be a total of four workouts, with one being a floater WOD. The fifth and final workout will be for the top three teams in each division. The four workouts will be released weekly. The fifth and final workout will be released once the top three teams have been identified.

At the call of 3..2..1..GO, the female athlete will have 7 minutes to establish a one-rep max (1RM) snatch, starting with an empty barbell.

Partners may assist in changing weight up or down as desired by the female athlete. Collars MUST be used when lifting.

As long as the weight breaks contact with the ground, AND the barbell does not stop (i.e. hang snatch), the lift will count if successfully made.

IMMEDIATELY following the completion of the first 7 minutes, the male athlete will have 7 minutes to complete as many repetitions as possible at their partner’s weight.

This event will have two scores.

Highest percentage of female snatch to body weight ratio
