LIVE WARS
Episode I – Battle of the Co-Eds
Join us on Sunday, October 11 for a day of packed adrenaline and intensity! Represent your box and see if you and your partner have what it takes to battle against other co-ed teams.
Teams of two, which consist of 1 male and 1 female, will compete in a 3-WOD event. This event will showcase skill and strength in a teamwork environment. There will be two divisions to choose from, Intermediate and RX. Intermediate division will be for those who have trained within a year but new to competing. RX division will be for those who are comfortable in performing benchmark WODs with prescribed movements and weight. Below are some of the movements to be expected.
WOD 1: Hang on! (Video WOD 1)
AMRAP in 8
minutes of combined Hang Power Snatches for men and
Hang Power Cleans for ladies with shared barbell @ 105# (Rx) or 75# (Intermediate).
Once Partner
“A” lifts barbell in hang position, he/she must hold barbell while Partner “B”
performs 20 double-unders (Rx) or 40 single-unders (Intermediate) before
Partner “A” begins movement. Swap barbell between partners as needed. If
barbell is dropped or swapped, 20 double-unders/40 single-unders must always be
completed at partners hang position before movement is started.
WOD 2: Keep moving… (Video WOD 2)
For time (8 minute cap):
Complete all
reps for each movement before moving to the next. Shared reps. One partner
works at a time.
Rx Division:
24 Gymnastic complexes (no rep if athlete drops during complex):
1 CTB
1 T2B
1 Pull-up
36 Partner Burpee Over & Back
48 Kettlebell Swings for female and Kettlebell Snatches for male (55#)
Intermediate Division:
24 Pull-ups
36 Partner Burpee Over & Back
48 Kettlebell Swings for female and Alternating Kettlebell Snatches for male
(35#)
Note:
The
alternating KB snatches must start from the ground for every rep using one hand.
No rep for dropping/slamming KB.
4 Rounds for time:
Round 1:
Partner “A” will perform a weighted run at a 100m mark, drop the weight and
sprint back. During this time, Partner “B” will perform 25 Wall balls.
Round 2:
Once Partner “A” returns and once Partner “B” has completed the wall balls, they
switch. Partner “A” then performs 25 wall balls while Partner “B” performs a
weighted run to the same 100m mark to drop the weight and sprint back.
Round 3:
Once Partner “B” returns, another 25 wall balls must be performed and Partner
“A” sprints to the 100m mark to retrieve the same weight and run back.
Round 4:
As the final round, Partner “A” will then complete the last 25 wall balls while
Partner “B” sprints 100m to retrieve the same weight and run back. WOD is complete when both Partner “B” is
back to their station from the run and Partner “A” has completed the final 25
wall balls.
Note:
Athletes cannot switch until one is back from the run and the other is
completed with the 25 wall balls. At that point, they must tag hands.
Wall balls:

Intermediate (f:10#@9'/m:15#@10')
