About This Competition

We are super stoked to bring this years Grand Union in-house throwdown…. Woooooo!
This year it’s same sex pairs of your choosing and we are running a points system. You'll be able to choose whether you RX or scale the workouts individually and this will be reflected in the scoring.
Examples of movement standards below (these may or may not be in the workouts on the day) -
RX -
Dumbbell 22.5/15kg
Deadlift 100/70kg
Barbell STOH 42.5/30kg
Clean 50/35kg
Thrusters 42.5/30kg
Wallballs 9/6kg
Pull ups YES
Scaled -
Dumbbell 20/12.5kg
Deadlift 70/45kg
Barbell STOH 30/20kg
Clean 40/25kg
Thrusters 30/20kg

The important info -
- Please arrive by 8am and register ahead of the briefing at 8:15am.
- Heat times and the leaderboard will be displayed online here throughout the day.
- Bring drinks and snacks to keep you fuelled.
- You will need to let your judge know prior to each workout whether you are RX or scaling.
- Podium around 1pm so please stick around until the end if possible.
As always we will be in need of judges so if you don’t want to take part please let us know if you’re available to help out. We will require athletes to judge on the day also.

The GU Summer Social is at The Bull in Berkhamsted from 7pm. There will be a food option but more info on all of this will be released nearer the time. Please RSVP and let us know if you can make it - partners welcome too.

Ascending ladder 1-3-5-7-9-etc
Lateral bar burpees
DB Snatch @ 22.5/15 kg (alternate arms)
· Only 1 partner working at once, must do both lat bar burpees and DB squats before P2 can take over. E.g. partner 1 completes 1 DB Snatch then 1 lateral bar burpee, partner 2 then completes 1 DB Snatch then 1 lateral bar burpee, then the 3’s each, 5’s each etc.
Part B –
5 minutes to find a heavy complex each
Hang Clean + Clean + S2OH
Score = total combined weight
