About This Competition
Romanian Throwdown by Ultimate Smartfit Challenge
The Romanian Throwdown by USC is an annual competitive fitness throwdown taking place in Timisoara, ROMANIA with the goal of bringing together individual athletes from all around the country and now from all around the world to compete in the spirit of fitness.
The Ultimate Smartfit Challenge has been attracting functional sport athletes of the highest caliber from Romania since its initiation in 2014, and now under ROMANIAN THROWDOWN continues to provide the excitement and challenge sought by athletes internationally, in the heart of Romania’s favorite city.
To qualify for Romanian Throwdown all athletes must complete the Online Qualifiers to earn a spot to the Finals. Shortly after qualifying for the Romanian Throwdown and prior to arriving on site, all athletes who wish to compete in the Romanian Throwdown will receive an email containing instructions on how to register for the Romanian Throwdown Finals.

- RX - Top 40/20
- INTERMEDIATE - Top 60/30
- BEGINNERS - Top 60/30
- MASTERS 39+ - Top 20/10

All registration fees will not be refunded unless the competion will be CANCELED!
Romanian Throwdown reserves the right to invite RX (Male/Female) athletes to compete in the Finals.
The means by which an athlete can earn one of the bids is solely up to the Romanian Throwdown organizers discretion. Once an athlete receives an invite via an at-large bid, the athlete will have to accept the invite and complete the registration process.

WORKOUT 1
FOR TIME!
Time cap - 6 min:
1 lap - Run
5 rep - Thrusters
1 lap - Run
10 rep - Thrusters
1 lap - Run
15 rep - Thrusters
Barbell:
RX: Men - 60 kg / Women - 40 kg
Intermediate & Masters 39+: Men - 50 kg / Women - 30 kg
Beginners: Men - 40 kg / Women - 20 kg
DESCRIPTION:
The workout begins with the athlete standing tall on the starting mat.
At the call of “3, 2, 1 … GO!” the athlete will start running 1 Lap on the designed area. When the athlete finishes with the first run, he/she will come to their lane and will perform 5 THRUSTERS. After the 5 repetitions, the athlete will run 1 lap on the designed area, then perform 10 THRUSTERS, run 1 lap and will proceed to the barbell and perform the last 15 THRUSTERS.
To finish the workout the athlete must step on the white mat.
The athlete's score is the time during which he/she has completed the workout. If the athletes do not finish the workout in the time cap, they will be asked for the total of completed repetitions.
All divisions will perform the workout scheme as it is!
The changes for each division are regarding the barbells weight!
WORKOUT 2
3 ROUNDS
FOR TIME!
Time cap - 8 min:
30 m (2x 15 m section) - Sled Push
RX: Men - 15 rep / Women - 10 rep - Bar Muscle Ups
Intermediate & Masters 39+: Men - 15 rep / Women - 10 rep - C2B Pull Ups
Beginners: Men - 15 rep - Pull Ups / Women - 10 rep - Band Assisted Pull Ups
Sled:
RX: Men - 110 kg / Women - 70 kg
Intermediate & Masters 39+: Men - 90 kg / Women - 60 kg
Beginners: Men - 70 kg / Women - 50 kg
DESCRIPTION:
The workout begins with the athlete standing tall on the starting mat.
At the call of “3, 2, 1 … GO!” the athlete will start with 30 m of SLED PUSH. When the athlete finishes with the SLED PUSH, he/she will perform the gymnastic movement and repetition number asigned for their division. After the repetitions are complete on the gymnastic movement, the athlete will return to the SLED and repeat the same scheme for 2 more rounds.
To finish the workout the athlete must step on the white mat.
The athlete's score is the time during which he/she has completed the workout. If the athletes do not finish the workout in the time cap, they will be asked for the total of completed repetitions.
All divisions will perform the workout scheme as it is!
The changes for each division are regarding the sled weight, gymnastic movement complexity and the number of repetitions!
WORKOUT 3
FOR TIME!
Time cap - 6 min:
3 lengths - Shuttle Sprints
30 rep - OA DB Snatch Alternating Hands
3 lengths - Shuttle Sprints
30 m (2x 15 m section) - OA DB Overhead Walking Lunges
DB:
RX: Men - 30 kg / Women - 22.5 kg
Intermediate & Masters 39+: Men - 22.5 kg / Women - 15 kg
Beginners: Men - 15 kg / Women - 10 kg
DESCRIPTION:
The workout begins with the athlete standing tall on the starting mat.
At the call of “3, 2, 1 … GO!” the athlete will start with 3 Lengths of SHUTTLE SPRINTS. After the athlete finishes with the SPRINTS he/she will perform 30 OA DB SNATCH. Once the last repetition of the SNATCH is complete the athlete will return to the SHUTTLE SPRINTS and complete 3 Lengths again.
To finish the workout the athlete must first complete 30 m of OA DB OVERHEAD WALKING LUNGES in 2x15 m sections and then step on the white mat with the DB.
The athlete's score is the time during which he/she has completed the workout. If the athletes do not finish the workout in the time cap, they will be asked for the total of completed repetitions.
All divisions will perform the workout scheme as it is!
The changes for each division are regarding the dumbbells weight!
WORKOUT 4
FOR TIME!
Time cap - 7 min:
1 lap - Weighted Run With Dumbbell
20 rep - Burpee Clear The Object Overs
1 lap - Weighted Run With Dumbbell
20 rep - Power Cleans
DB:
RX: Men - 30 kg / Women - 22.5 kg
Intermediate & Masters 39+: Men - 22.5 kg / Women - 15 kg
Barbell:
RX: Men - 80 kg / Women - 60 kg
Intermediate & Masters 39+: Men - 70 kg / Women - 50 kg
DESCRIPTION:
The workout begins with the athlete standing tall on the starting mat.
At the call of “3, 2, 1 … GO!” the athlete will move forward and pick up the dumbbell, then he/she will procede with the WEIGHTED RUN. Upon completing the run, the athlete will have to put back the dumbbell on the designed area and move to the 20 BURPEE CLEAR THE OBJECT OVERS. When the last repetition is done, the athlete will go and pick up the dumbbell and procede for the final WEIGHTED RUN. Upon completing the second run, the athlete will put the dumbbell back on the designed area and move to the 20 POWER CLEANS.
To finish the workout the athlete must step back on the white mat after the last POWER CLEAN repetition is complete.
The athlete's score is the time during which he/she has completed the workout. If the athletes do not finish the workout in the time cap, they will be asked for the total of completed repetitions.
All divisions will perform the workout scheme as it is!
The changes for each division are regarding the dumbbells and barbells weight!
WORKOUT 5
FOR TIME!
Time cap - 9 min:
3 rep - Short Rope Climbs
6 rep - Squat Snatch
30 m (6x 5 m unbroken sections) - Handstand Walk
6 rep - Squat Snatch
3 rep - Short Rope Climbs
Barbell:
RX: Men - 80 kg / Women - 55 kg
Intermediate & Masters 39+: Men - 60 kg / Women - 40 kg
DESCRIPTION:
The workout begins with the athlete standing tall on the starting mat.
At the call of “3, 2, 1 … GO!” the athlete will move on to the 3 SHORT ROPE CLIMBS. Upon completing the climbs, the athlete will move to the barbell and complete 6 SQUAT SNATCH. When the last repetition is done, the athlete will move forward and complete 30 HANDSTAND WALK in 5 m unbroken sections. Upon completing the last 5 m the athlete will move back to the barbell and complete 6 SQUAT SNATCH.
To finish the workout the athlete must step back on the rope and complete the last 3 SHORT ROPE CLIMBS. After the last rep the athlete must go to the finish mat to complete the workout.
The athlete's score is the time during which he/she has completed the workout. If the athletes do not finish the workout in the time cap, they will be asked for the total of completed repetitions.
All divisions will perform the workout scheme as it is!
The changes for each division are regarding the barbells weight!
