About This Competition

A competition for First Timers. This means that anyone registering for this event has not competed before. The CrossFit Open, In house charity and community throw downs do not count. If you have entered on line competitions, such as masters league/masters HQ, and only taken part in the first rounds in your own gym, and  NOT progressed to the face to face finals, then this is fine as well.

The programming will be focusing on beginners and the movements will not include high technical skills, and the weights will also reflect that this is for first time athletes.

The aim is to create a comfortable enviroment where people who wants to try competing for the first time are all in the same boat. We want to take some of the stress away and make this first time competing an awesome and comfortable experience.

We do not offer refunds, but it is possible to give your spot to another first timer should something come up and your not able to compete.

Workouts will be released as we go. Only the finals will be kept a secret until the day of.

Workouts

Hold On

Athletes complete as many rounds and reps as possible of:

300/200m row

15m KB Farmers Carry (16/12)

10 Deadlirts (60/40kg)

5m Front Rack KB lunge

8 min time cap

Merry go Round:

3 Rounds For Time:

15/12 Bike Calories

15 Wall Balls (9kg/6kg)

15 Toes above Hips

Time cap: 8 mins.

Buy In:- 600m / 500m ski

Then complete the following rounds:

20m shuttle run, 20m sandbag carry, 20 single unders

40m shuttle run, 40m sandbag carry, 40 single unders

60m shuttle run, 60m sandbag carry, 60 single unders

80m shuttle run, 80m sandbag carry, 80 single unders

100m shuttle run, 100m sandbag carry, 100 single unders 

(1 Burpee must be performed at every 10m lap in the shuttle runs and sandbag carry - except the last 10m before each transition)

Buy Out:- 600m / 500m ski

Time cap: 20 minutes

Buy in:

15 ring rows, 6 wall walks

10 ring rows, 3 wall walks

5 ring rows, 1 wall walk

Then straight into:

4 Front Squats, 4 Box Jump Overs, 4 Shoulder to Overhead

8 Front Squats, 8 Box Jump Overs, 8 Shoulder to Overhead

12 Front Squats, 12 Box Jump Overs, 12 Shoulder to Overhead

In remaining time within the 12 minutes of workout 3 part A athletes are to find a 1RM thruster.
