Proving Grounds - World Pairs Championships Qualifiers 2024
About This Competition
Proving Grounds - World Pairs Championships is a same sex pair fitness competition.
Online qualifiers will be released on Monday 1st of July and need to be completed by midnight, Sunday 4th of August 2024.
**The qualifiers will be completed individually and will be a combined team score for each workout. Therefore athletes don't need to complete them together or be from the same gym**
The top teams from each category will qualify to go onto the finals held on the 19th and 20th of October 2024 at the SEC Glasgow, to compete to become the fittest pair in the world!
For the first time in the history of Proving Grounds - World Pairs Championships THE FINALS WILL BE A TWO DAY COMPETITION FOR ALL CATEGORIES.
The number of qualifying teams will be subject to change.
Category selection guideline:
Everyday Athlete
This division is for those who love functional fitness style training. You have been practicing for a few months or years and are still working on perfecting some of the common functional movements.
This category is all about enjoying competition and working out along side your buddy. This is either your first competition or you have participated in some local/box competitions. You were able to participate in the CrossFit Open with a mixture of scaled and RX finishes.
Intermediate Athlete
Designed for those who enjoy training however may struggle with some of the more high-skill and technical movements. You were able to complete the CrossFit Open RX and were close to qualifying for the quarterfinals.
If you love competition but aren’t quite ready to hit the RX category yet, then this category is for you.
RX Athlete
This is for competitive athletes! You love training, love competing and want to throw down with the best there is.
If you were able to complete the CrossFit Open RX and have managed to progress to the upcoming quarterfinals/semi’s/Games this is the division for you.
Masters (Combined age 75+)
This category is designed for any athletes who meet the below age requirements
Athletes must be 35+ years old on the date of competition
The teams combined age must be 75+ years
You can expect the Masters category to be a mix between the Intermediate and RX competition.
