2022 Everyday Warrior Battle of the Boxes
About This Competition
EVERYDAY WARRIOR
2022 BATTLE OF THE BOXES
We are excited to announce our new Battle of the Boxes fundraiser!
Everyday Warrior founder Brittany Gill created the Battle Series as a way to Rally Community and raise money to alleviate the financial impact Cancer has on families in the CrossFit Community.
Your participation is a way to honor those that have fought and continue to fight for their lives every day. Brittany passed away in 2014 and is the original Everyday Warrior. Her vision continues to drive our mission forward each year.
Through the dedication of gyms, sponsors, and supporters we have provided financial assistance to more than 59 Warrior’s across the country. If you’re following our journey, you’ve seen us share many of these inspiring stories.
EVENT INFORMATION
The 2022 Everyday Warrior Battle of the Boxes will be presented each year in place of our online Team Battle Series in November. Now that Everyday Warrior has officially brought back our LIVE War Games competition, we are excited to introduce this new fundraiser!
The Indivudal Battle Series will remain and be presented in May each year!
ONE TOP GYM. ONE WOD. ONE BANNER.
There will only be one top fundraising champion! Everyday Warriors goal is to raise $30,000 through the Battle of the Boxes fundraiser. We would like to encourage and rally individuals and gyms to raise $1,500 to $5,000+. These dollar amounts will help support nominated warriors and alleviate the financial impact Cancer has on families in the CrossFit Community.

MOVEMENT STANDARDS
BAR FACING BURPEES
Athletes may jump or step back to reach the bottom position.
The athlete’s head must stay behind the barbell.
Hands and feet must remain inside the width of the plates.
Stepping and/or jumping back to the starting position are both permitted.
The athlete MUST clearly jump over the barbell.
Both feet must be off the ground as the athlete passes over the bar.
Stepping over is NOT permitted.
The athlete does NOT need to use a two-foot takeoff.
Scaled divisions may step over the bar and Masters 55+.
There is no requirement to land with both feet at the same time.
The athlete must be perpendicular to and facing the barbell before starting the next rep.
TOES TO BAR
Begin by hanging from the pull-up bar with arms extended.
Heels must be brought back behind the bar.
Overhand, underhand, or mixed grips are all permitted.
The rep is credited when both feet come in contact with the bar at the same time, between the hands.
Any part of the feet may make contact with the bar.
HANGING KNEE RAISE (Scaled athletes and scaled teens may perform hanging knee-raises)
Begin by hanging from the pull-up bar with arms extended.
Heels must be brought back behind the bar.
Overhand, underhand, or mixed grips are all permitted.
The rep is credited when the knees are above the hips.
SIT UPS (Scaled masters)
Begin with the back in contact with the floor, feet anchored, and hands touching the floor above the head.
AbMats are permitted.
Raise the torso until the hands touch the toes
BOX JUMP OVER
The athlete starts with both feet on the ground on one side of the box.
Do NOT angle the box and jump or step up on the corner.
A lateral jump over the box (starting with the feet parallel to the box) IS permitted.
A two-foot takeoff is always required, and only the athlete’s feet may touch the box.
After landing on the box, the athlete must step off to the other side. Alternatively, the athlete may jump completely over the box.
If jumping over the box, the feet must pass over the box, not around it.
A two-foot landing is required.
There is no requirement to stand tall while on top of the box.
*All scaled divisions and Masters 55+ may step up.
Both feet MUST touch the top of the box if stepping up and over.
Athletes MUST step down from the box for the rep to count.
Rebounding into the next jump is NOT permitted.
The rep is credited when both feet have touched the ground on the opposite side of the box. From there, they may begin their next rep.
CLEAN
The barbell begins on the ground and must be lifted to the front rack position. The rep is completed when the athlete’s hips and knees are fully extended and the bar is resting on the shoulders in the front rack position with the elbows in front of the bar. Squat clean is allowed.
The bar can be pre-loaded prior to the start of the workout.
