About This Competition
Norwegian Throwdown 2021!
Welcome back to the third edition of the Norwegian Summer Throwdown. We will once agian be hosting our event in the unique and beautiful mountains of Gol at the Storefjell Resort.
Last year was tough but we were still able to run an amazing event with excellent Covid-safety standards. This year you can expect bigger and better but with the same focus on athletes, staff and spectator safety.
The competiton will run for 2 days, August 14th-15th. Athletes will compete in teams of 2 and there will be 40 team places available in each division, male-male, female-female or male-female. (120 teams total)
There are NO QUALIFIERS for this event, you simply need to grab a friend and SIGN UP!
WHERE & WHEN
This is an ON-SITE competition at Storefjell Resort in Gol, Norway on August 14-15 2021. We will throw-down in 6 events and finish off Sunday evening with a celebration!
SCHEDULE
FRIDAY: Check in all day, briefing in Main Arena 20.00
SATURDAY: 3 Events
SUNDAY: 3 Events and prize ceremony. End approx 19:00
COMPETITION SETUP
On day one all teams will compete on the same leaderboard in your chosen category. Then for day two, we will split each category in half to create 2 divisions and leaderboards per category. A DX (intermediate/scaled) level and an RX level. Your day 2 division will be decided by your placement on the leaderboard of day 1. At the end of the weekend we will have 6 podiums, an RX and DX for each category.
DAY 1: WHAT TO EXPECT
MOVE as fast as you can
LIFT as heavy as you can
Do as many REPS as you can!
Movements could include: Dumbbell variations, box jumps, wall balls, toes to bar, pull ups, burpees, machine work and a max lift. The test will remain very challenging but with a more 'inclusive' feeling.
Suggested Minimum requirements (men/women):
Deadlift: 110 / 75
Barbell snatch: 50 / 35
Clean&Jerk: 70 / 50
Dumbbell snatch: 22,5 / 15
You would also be required ot perform these skills to a full standard (but not in high volune) : TTB, Pull ups, Double unders
DAY 2: WHAT TO EXPECT
Today we will separate each category in to 2 divisions based day 1 placing.
For the teams that do not move up you can expect a similar standard of testing to day 1. Workouts will have a focus on FITNESS without the inclusion of the really advanced skills.
The top teams will move up to an RX category where you can expect to see heavier barbells, some more advanced gymnastics and some tougher time caps!
Overall you can expect a great test of fitness in one of the best locations in the world for a competition

COVID-19 SAFETY
In collaboration with the City Office of Gol and Storefjell Resort we have developed a plan to uphold all regulations for hygiene and safety regarding Covid-19. All athletes are required to adhere to instructions in this regard during their stay. Anyone presenting any symptom of Covid-19 will not be permitted to enter the arena.
Athletes will be responsible for ensuring their ability to enter Norway for the competition. No athletes will be permitted to compete while in quarantine. No refunds will be given to participants who are unable to come.
