About This Competition

The Summer Classic, #UNITEDBYSUMMER is a virtual or in-person fitness event uniting CrossFit affiliate communities across Canada on Canada Day Weekend, July 1 - 5, 2021.

🇨🇦 This year's competition will be a first! Gyms from all across Canada will be competing in both Rx’d and Scaled divisions across a Full Equipment Division or Minimal Equipment division for a chance to sit on top of the leaderboard!

🏆 The competition will be CrossFit Open-style. Workouts will be released on Thursday July 1 and athletes have until Monday July 5 to complete them and submit their scores. Winners will be announced Wednesday July 7. ✨Prize packs for the podium winners across all divisions provided by our title sponsor, @truLOCAL ✨

🎒 No gym no problem, take this competition on the road with you - all you need is a Dumbbell, a Backpack and a Skipping rope.

❤️ About us: We created this event to help gyms recover faster from the effects of country-wide lockdowns. Entry is $78 per athlete and 70% of ticket sales go directly to the affiliate the athlete signed up with.

DIVISIONS
Minimal Equipment & Full Equipment (RX and SCALED)
You must chose the minimal or full equipment division upon registration but once the workouts are released, you may choose to do the RX or the Scaled variation of each workout. 

Minimal Equipment 

  • 1x35lbs dumbbell OR 1x15lbs dumbbell for women
  • 1x50lbs dumbbell OR 1x35lbs dumbbell for men 
  • A Backpack
  • Skipping Rope 

Full Equipment 

  • A single dumbbell ranging anywhere from 10-60lbs 
  • A Backpack
  • Skipping Rope
  • Barbell & plates 
  • Rower

You will compete in 3 events over the course of Canada Day Weekend. 

The workouts will be released Thursday July 1st at 3PM EST and must be submitted by Monday July 5th at 3PM EST. 

In order to be eligible for prizing, you must upload videos of ALL the workouts.  

⛔️Refund Policy: No refunds, substitutions or transfers will be allowed for the Summer Classic for any reason. This policy includes, but is not limited to, illness/Covid-19, gym closures, quarantine, stay-at-home orders, travel, injury, pregnancy, and deployment.
