About This Competition

This will be the 3rd Annual 5721 Fitness Throwdown, in honor of Officer Jonathan Deguzman, raising funds for his scholarship program helping high performing under represented students from the south bay area! 

We will have vendors, food, music, and of course an EPIC day of fitness competition! 

Our goal is to host an inclusive competition for all levels, as well as raise money to make an impact!

As a team break up: 

RX:

40/30/20/10 Alternating DB Snatch (1:2) 50lbs/35lbs

4/3/2/1 15' Rope Climb

50 Double Unders 

Scaled: 

40/30/20/10 Alternating DB Snatch (1:2) 40lbs/25lbs 

2/2/2/2 15' Rope Climb

100 Single Unders 

 

3...2...1... GO: As a team you will chip away at your round of Snatches, then chip away at your rope climbs, then your jump rope. You may divide up the repetitions as you wish. Time stops when your final round of Jump Rope is completed. 

 

DUMBELL SNATCH: 1:2 Count, you must alternate arms, both heads up DB must touch the ground, full lockout and extention at the top for repetition to be counted. 

ROPE CLIMB: You may use legs, J hook/S hook, Hand must touch rack at the top for repetition to count. 

JUMP ROPE: 50 Double Unders, 100 Single Unders; Reps accumulated as a team. 

2/2/2/3 Minute Intervals (1 Minute rest time) for MAX REPETITIONS OF WALL BALLS. 

Rounds of 2 minutes (round 1/2/3) will begin with a BUY IN of: 

25 C2 Bike Cal

15 BOX JUMP CROSS OVERS (24" Rx/20"Sx) 

MAX PARTNER WALL BALL REMAINING TIME (RX Ball: 20lbs / SX Ball: 14lbs) (10'MM, 9'FF/MF) *Angle towards wall, Partner A will wall ball to partner B

ROUND OF 3 MINUTES (round 4) will begin with a BUY IN of:

30 C2 Bike Cal 

20 BOX JUMP CROSS OVER (24"Rx/20"Sx) 

MAX PARTNER WALL BALL REMAINING TIME (30RxMM/20RxMF/20RxFF, 14Sx) 

TIE BREAKER: Most Wall Balls in Round 1. 

On 3..2..1..Go, Athletes may break up the  BUY IN movements any way between them they would like. In the remaining time once completing the buy in, they will attempt MAX repetitions of Wallballs. Your wallball repetition count, at the end of all 4 intervals will be your score! Remember you will wall ball TO YOUR PARTNER, so you both will be working at the same time together to accumulate repetitions/points!

SCORE = WALL BALL REPS

BOX JUMP CROSS OVER: Must jump and make contact with both feet on top of the box, you can step or jump down to the other side to equal 1 rep. 

Within 10 minutes: Each athlete establish a 1RM of the following complex from the ground: 

CLEAN

FRONT SQUAT

SHOULDER TO OVERHEAD 

*For MF teams, one athlete will work until they hit their max, then next athlete may begin to work to their 1RM 

*For MM/FF teams, you may take turns on the bar and work until you hit your 1RM. You do NOT need to hit each weight your partner hits. 

CLEAN: May be power or squat

STOH: May be push jerk, split jerk, push press

 

 

Taking elements from the GS 24 Hero WOD for our fallen Hero, and applying it in competition form:

2 rounds for Time: 

400M (Together as Partners)

20 Syncro Burpee over worm

15 Syncro Worm Squat (RX Worm: 175lbs / SX Worm: 125lbs) 

10 Partner Tire Flips (Rx Division: 300lbs tire, Sx Division: 200lbs tire) 

 

STANDARDS: 

TIE BREAK = Round 1 time

RUN: 400M loop around our building. Cannot begin the next movement until your partner is with you. 

BURPEE: Syncro burpees facing worm and crossing over worm. 

WORM SQUAT: Syncro is at the bottom of the squat, and at the lockout at the top. Your worm is a 6' worm sandbag from GreyFit. 

TIRE FLIP: Working together as one on one side to make the tire flip.
