Side WOD Rules and Description (1page)
The side WOD is a 5 minute AMRAP of ski erg for calories and sandbag cleans over the shoulder.
A female and male will each start at a ski erg. The other female and male will start at the sandbag clean over the shoulder. Females must clean the 75lb sandbag (scaled 50lbs) and males must clean the 100lb sandbag (scaled 75lbs).
Monitors on the ski ergs will be set to count down from 5 minutes, and will be counting calories. Athletes will start standing on the base plate of the ski erg with hands at their side and handles in their cradles.
Athletes at the sandbag will start standing upright in front of their sandbag in the designated work area.
On the signal to start, athletes at the ski erg will begin to ski and athletes at the sandbag will complete synchronized sandbag cleans over the shoulder.
Once athletes complete 5 synchronized sandbag cleans over the shoulder, they will switch with athletes at the ski erg. Athletes must start each repetition of the sandbag clean over the shoulder together in order for the repetition to be considered synchronized and the repetition to count. Both athletes must complete the 5 repetitions before either of them can leave the designated area and move to the ski erg. All synchronized sandbag cleans over the shoulder must be completed within the designated work area, if the bag leaves the work area, the bag must be moved back into the work area by the athlete before more repetitions can be completed.
Athletes will switch between ski erg and synchronized sandbag cleans over the shoulder every five repetitions until the 5 minutes on the ski erg has elapsed.
Athletes must switch to the ski erg every 5 sandbag cleans. Athletes cannot switch prior to finishing their 5 sandbag cleans.
Calories from both ski ergs will be recorded and added together for score A of the workout.
Total synchronized sandbag cleans over the shoulder will be counted for score B of the workout.
Both score A and score B will be weighted and scored as an individual workout.
In the case of a tie on the overall competition leaderboard, whichever team had a higher score A for this workout will be considered the leader.
Workout 1 Rules and Description (1page)
Workout 1 is a 75 calorie row buy in for the team, followed by a 2 rep max effort thruster. Teams will have 10 minutes total in which to complete the buy in and establish their 2 rep max effort thruster. The score will be the combined weight of each athlete's heaviest successful 2 rep thruster.
Teams will start with one athlete on the rower, handle in the cradle, and hands on thighs. On the signal to start, athletes will begin rowing for as long as they want, switching with their teammates as they see fit. All athletes must stay within the designated working area at the base of their lane until the buy in is completed. Once the team’s monitor reads 75 calories (scaled 60), the athlete can get off the rower and the entire team can proceed down the field to the barbells.
Once at the barbells, athletes will establish a 2 repetition max effort thruster. Teams will have one set each of the following weights:
2.5 lbs
5 lbs
10 lbs
15 lbs
25 lbs
35 lbs
45 lbs
Weights can be added to and stripped from barbells as the team determines.
Only one barbell may be moving at a time.
Females must use the 35 lb barbell, and males must use the 45 lb barbell.
Collars must be used with barbells at all times.
Teammates can help change weights.
Athletes must declare the total weight on the bar to the judge before they lift.
A squat clean is allowed to start the first thruster.
Athletes can do single reps for a warm up, all the same rules apply, but the weight does not have to be declared to the judge; However, the athlete should declare it is a warm up or practice repetition.
It is up to the teammates to coordinate their effort in order to maximize weight lifted in the given time frame.

Workout 3 Rules and Description (1page)
Workout 3 is a 14 minute AMRAP divided into two 7 minute halves. Female pairs will work for the first 7 minutes, with male pairs working for the second 7 minutes, picking up where the females left off.
Female athletes will start Standing mid-lane, with one athlete standing upright behind the sled, and the other athlete standing upright in front of the sled. Male athletes will remain at the base of their lanes and cannot proceed into the working portion of their lane until the first 7 minutes have elapsed. During this time, male athletes are to leave their additional plate on the ground.
Upon the signal to start, female athletes will pick up the sled straps and pull the sled while the other athlete pushes the sled. The sled must completely travel past the 30’ mark on the field before being turned and traveling 30’ back down the field. The sled must completely pass the 30’ mark on the field before athletes can move on to the next movement. Each 30’ section completed will count as one repetition. Athletes must stay in their lanes as they turn their sleds for the repetition to count.
Athletes will then complete 2 power cleans total between the two partners. This can be completed by one athlete, or be split between the two athletes.
Next, athletes will complete 3 synchronized box jump overs (scaled step overs). Athletes must start each repetition together, from the ground, on the same side of the box for the repetition to be synchronized and the repetition to count. Athletes do NOT have to fully extend the hips when going over the box. Athletes can jump completely over the box, but assume all risk of injury for doing so.
Athletes will then complete 4 handstand pushups total between the two partners(scaled hand release pushup to a target). This can be completed by one athlete, or split between the two athletes.
Finally, athletes will complete 5 synchronized pull ups. Athletes can do any style pull up they choose, but both athletes must have their chins over the bar at the same time to be considered synchronized and the repetition to count.
Female athletes will repeat these movements until 7 minutes have elapsed. At which point they will go to the base of their lane while the male athletes enter the working area of their lane. Male athletes will place their additional 45# plate on the sled as they enter the work area, and start working from the movement and repetition number the females left off on. After the first 7 minutes have elapsed, females are not allowed to touch any equipment in their lane.
Males will continue the AMRAP until their 7 minutes have elapsed. Total repetitions completed at the end of the 14 minutes will be the team’s score.
