Workouts

TEC International 24.1 - Part 1

PART 1 Min 0-6

Establish max weight for the following complex

3 Deadlift, 2 Clean, 1 STOH

Mins 6-7, 1 minute between the two parts to change the bb weight, ensure you follow on to part 2, at minute 7.

KEY BRIEF/STANDARDS:

In a 6 min window athletes will establish maximum weight for the following complex lift. 3 Deadlift 2 Clean 1 STOH

The bar must be empty bar to start. During an attempt, athletes must not let go of the bar. No 'waiting/resting' is permitted on the floor.

DEADLIFT - This is a traditional deadlift with the hands outside the knees. Sumo-deadlifts are not allowed. Starting at the floor, the barbell is lifted until the hips and knees reach full extension with the shoulders behind the bar. The arms must be straight throughout.

CLEAN - During the clean, the barbell can begin on the ground or in a hang position and must be lifted from the selected position to the shoulders in one motion. A muscle clean, power clean, split clean, or squat clean may be used, as long as the barbell comes up to the rack position on the shoulders. A rep will be constituted once a rack position is achieved with full extension of the spine, hips, and knees.

STOH - Athletes may opt for any variation. A complete rep will constitute locked knees, hips, and arms when the barbell is overhead. So long as the barbell doesn't touch the floor or the athlete doesn't lose grip, numerous attempts are permitted.

Part 2

Part 2 - MUST BE COMPLETE following a minute's rest after Part 1.

In a 6min time cap, athletes must achieve as many rounds as possible of the following detail:

9 Deadlift, 9 Burpee over Bar

6 Hang Clean, 6 Burpee over Bar

3 GTOH, 3 Burpee over the bar

*RX & Masters 35+  80/55kg

Inters & Masters 40-44/45+ 60/40kg

Novice 50/35kg,

Teens 16-17 50/40kg

Teens 14-15 40/30kg

KEY BRIEF/MOVEMENT STANDARDS

Following 24.1 Part 1 athletes will immediately have 1 minute rest (min 6-7) to set the barbell as the division's relevant load.

At minute 7, Starting with the barbell on the floor on 3,2,1 athletes will begin with 9 Deadlifts, 9 Burpee over bar, then 6 Hang Cleans, 6 Burpee over bar, followed by 3 Ground to over head & 3 Burpee over bar. This is one round complete. Athletes will aim to achieve as many rounds/reps as possible in 6mins.

The score is the total reps.

DEADLIFT - see part 1 standards.

HANG CLEAN - the first rep must be deadlifted from the floor first, and then lowered into the hang position. The bar may not pass the knee during each rep. Any variation of hang clean is permitted - power, squat, split. A rep is credited when the athlete's hips and knees are fully extended with the bar fully supported in a front-rack position

GTOH - The barbell must start from the floor for each attempted rep. Athletes may opt for any variation in which the barbell is lifted from the ground to a fully locked position overhead - snatch, clean & jerk. A rep will be credited when athletes achieve the barbell overhead with knees, hips, and arms fully extended.

BURPEE OVER BAR - The athlete must lie chest to ground perpendicular to and facing the barbell before starting each rep. The athlete MUST jump over the barbell. Both feet must be off the ground as the athlete passes over the bar. Stepping over is NOT permitted. The athlete must take a two-foot takeoff. Touching the barbell on the jump or step-over is a “no rep.” The rep is credited when both feet have touched the ground on the opposite side of the barbell.

There is no requirement to land with both feet at the same time. Athletes may not receive assistance moving or resetting their barbells unless safety is an immediate concern.
