About This Competition

Mayhem In the Mountains 2018
Presented by Kingman CrossFit

Team Functional Fitness Competition will be taking advantage of the beautiful terrain located right in our backyard, Hualapai Mountain Park! 
Hualapai Mountain Park offers many outdoor activities, various hiking trails and gorgeous scenery. With the combined elements of functional fitness, gymnastics, olympic lifting and the great outdoors, Mayhem In the Mountains is guaranteed to be the tristate area’s premier event for the Second year running!

This is a Team Competition.
Each team will be made up of 4 competitors;
2 Males and 2 Females.
Teams will be entered into the following categories, 
Rx and Scaled.

** Due to the Popularity of this event, we will be capping it at 40 teams, so sign up early!**

Each Team will Compete in a minimum of 3 Events.
The top 3 teams in each division will compete in a final.

Cash prizes and prize packages will be presented to the RX podium teams. 
Prize packages will be awarded to the scaled teams. 

Here are the recommended standards for both categories:

RX: Men/Woman
Partner Deadlift M/F Pairs 365lbs
Dumbbell Movements 50/35
24in Box Jumps 
Double Unders
Handstand Push-Ups
Kettle Bell Movements 53/35
Pull Ups
Toes To Bar
Trail Running (bring appropriate footwear, Metcons/Nanos will not cut it)
Strongman movements such as the use of axle bars, kegs, atlas stones, and sand bags may be included.
Full understanding of equipment like the Concept2 Rower and/or the Assault AirBike. 
Full understanding and ability to reach full Range of Motion for all movements common in functional fitness.

Ab Mat Sit Ups/Knee Raises

Full understanding of equipment like the Concept2 Rower and/or the Assault AirBike.

Please note the standards above are for the 3 Events leading into the Final, should you make it to the final be prepared for anything and everything. Movements not included above may be included in the final event.

Workouts

30min Time Cap In MM, FF Pairs RX 1000 meter row (each partner must row 500m) 1 Mile Run together holding rope Scaled 500m row (each partner must row 250m) 1/2 Mile Run together holding rope At 3,2,1 Go. The first pair of athletes will begin their 1000m row, switching after the first athlete completes 500m. Once the 2nd athlete finishes their 500m portion of the row, the two will run holding a piece of rope 1 mile. On return, the first 2 athletes will tag their waiting partners, to beginning their 1000m row, switching at 500m and then finishing their 1mile run. Time stops once both athletes finish their final run. Tie Break time will be after the first set of athlete cross the finish of the run and tag their partners. RESULT - 1 Score for time

4min. AMRAP - Ascending Reps RX Scaled Pullups Ring Rows Toes to Bar Hanging Knee Raises Wall Balls 20/14 to 10ft Wall Balls 14/10 to 10ft On 3, 2, 1, GO: Partner 1 will begin with 1 Pull up 1 Toes to Bar 1 Wall Ball 2 Pull ups 2 Toes to Bar 2 Wall Balls 3 Pull ups 3 Toes to Bar 3 Wall Balls So on and so on, adding one rep every round until 4 mins is up. Partner number 2 will continue where partner 1 left off for 4 mins. Partner number 3 will continue where partner 2 left off for 4 mins. Partner number 4 will continue where partner 3 left off for 4 mins. Directly following each teammates 4 Min AMRAP, the 4 Min clock will begin for their section in Event 2B.

Immediately after Event 2A, Establish a 3 Rep Max Front Squat, from the ground. A 45 lb. “Male” barbell will be used for this event. Athletes will be permitted to do a “squat clean” for their first rep as long as the bar is received below parallel. The score for this event will be the total max weight of all team members combined. Once athletes make it to this stage of the event (after 2A, they are permitted to “help” load the bar for their teammates) RESULT - 1 Score for weight

Completed in MF Pairs 15min time cap Time stops once both pairs complete their workload. RX MF Pair 1 21-15-9 Assault Bike Calories (each partner must complete the 21-15-9 calories on the bike) Partner Deadlifts 365lbs MF Pair 2 45 Assault Bike Calories (Each) 45 Partner Deadlifts 365lbs Scaled MF Pair 1 15-12-9 Assault Bike Calories (each partner must complete the 15-12-9 calories on the bike) Partner Deadlifts 250lbs MF Pair 2 36 Assault Bike Calories (Each) 36 Partner Deadlifts 250lbs
