About This Competition

We want to keep the momentum from the Open going, so we are running an in-house same sex pairs competition at Southend.

This will be a 3-week, same sex competition with divisions for Open, RX and Advanced, programmed by our Head Coach Sarah Taaffe. Each week, one workout will be released and programmed into classes, so you do not need to worry about anything. You just need to organise your partner and attend the same class to complete the workout.

Schedule:

Week 1, starting April 13

Week 2, starting April 20

Week 3, starting April 27

The competition is free to enter, and there will be prizes for the winners. In the final week, we will also organise a social event to wrap things up.

30 Alternating DB Snatches 15/10kg

REST — 2 minutes

20 Hanging Knee Raises

Score = total time including the 2 minutes rest

Part A: 4 Rounds For Time:

20/15 Cal Bike
15 Barbell Deadlifts - Shared
12 Synchro Hang Power Cleans (BB + DBs)
9 Shoulder to Overhead -  Shared
6 Synchro Front Squats (BB + DBs)

BB 40/25kg
DBs 2x15/10kg

Rules:
One barbell one set of DBs per pair
Partition reps as needed (except synchro)

Time Cap Part A: 12 minutes
Time Cap Part A + B: 18 minutes

Part B: Complex:

1 Clean + 1 Hang Clean + 1 Shoulder to Overhead

Score = partner A weight + partner B weight

Time Cap Part A: 12 minutes
