About This Competition

*We will be giving away the last two mens Intermediate spots to the RX waitlist if they aren't filled by 2/1/25.

Fend off the frost at Salt Flats Sports and Fitness' first ever functional fitness competition! The Salt Flats Freeze will be held at our brand new facility in Tooele, UT. Featuring some classic functional fitness events as well as a few surprises that you won't see anywhere else! Each division will be capped at 12 teams so grab your friends and sign up before you get iced out! 

The Freeze will include four events; event one will start at 8 am. Athletes need to arrive at 7 am to check in and warm up. Three of four events will be released before competition day while the finale remains a mystery! Prizes (including cash!) will be awarded to the top three teams in each division. Event winners will also receive a cool themed prize. The cost per team is $150. An additional floater event will be available to athletes (no additional cost) and spectators ($5) for a cash prize. The floater event will not affect the podium and is not required. 

Parking will be available on site. No pets will be allowed in the building. 

No substitute team members once the event has started. Registration is non-refundable.

Registration deadline is February 6th at 8 pm.

  • Double Dumbbell Box Step Overs (50/35lbs, 24"/20")
  • Clean (225/155lbs)
  • Dumbbell Hang Snatches (50/35lbs)
  • Double Unders
  • Bar Muscle Ups (Men), Chest to Bar Pull Ups (Women)
  • Ski Erg
  • Sled Push and Pull (240/195lbs)
  • Surprise movement (don't worry, we promise you can do it!)

Intermediate

  • Double Dumbbell Box Step Overs (35/25lbs, 24"/20")
  • Clean (185/115lbs)
  • Dumbbell Hang Snatches (35/25lbs)
  • Single Unders
  • Jumping Pull Ups/Burpee Jumping Pull Ups
  • Ski Erg
  • Sled Push and Pull (195/165lbs)
  • Surprise movement (don't worry, we promise you can do it!)

8:00 Running Clock

0:00-4:00 (Part 1)

Each athlete will complete:

50 Double Unders (RX)/75 Single Unders (INT)

4 Cleans (RX 155/105lbs) (INT 115/85lbs)

3 Cleans (RX 185/115lbs) (INT 135/95lbs)

2 Cleans (RX 205/135lbs) (INT 155/105lbs)

1 Clean (RX 225/155lbs) (INT 185/115lbs)

Part 1 will have a waterfall start.

Athlete 1 will begin with the jump rope at 3,2,1 go and then continue to the clean ladder.

Athlete 2 will begin the jump rope as soon as Athlete 1 is finished with their jump rope and then proceed to the clean ladder as well. Score for part 1 is the time in which both athletes finish the clean ladder or reps completed if you are time capped at 4:00. 

4:00-8:00 (Part 2)

4 minutes for both athletes to find a 1 rep max clean.

Score is combined weight lifted. 

8:00 Running Clock

0:00-4:00 (Part 1)

Each Athlete will complete:
