Triple B - Virtual Competition
About This Competition
Welcome to the Triple B – the ultimate test of strength and endurance in British Weightlifting's new Strength Series. This virtual competition will push athletes to their limits in a 3 minute Clean & Jerk AMRAP (As Many Reps As Possible). Athletes can choose to compete in either the Scaled or Advanced categories, with specific weights tailored to challenge each level. This is more than just a test of physical power; it's a measure of sheer determination and focus. Are you ready to take on the challenge and redefine your strength?
The Competition:
Format: Virtual Functional Fitness Competition
Duration: 3 Minute AMRAP
Movement: Clean & Jerk
Objective: Complete as many reps as possible within the 3 minutes.
Weights:
Male: Scaled 60kg / Advanced 80kg
Female: Scaled 40kg / Advanced 55kg

3 Minute Clean & Jerk AMRAP

Video Standards:
- Video must be unedited.
- Athlete must stay present in the video throughout.
- A timer clock must be visible throughout the challenge.
- Athlete must show clearly the weights used and the barbell used prior to or post the event.
- The video must clearly show the entire athlete (& equipment) performing the movement to the standards below, a 45 degree angle from profile view is recommended.
- Athlete’s can pre-load the bar before time starts
- Any attempts started prior to the 3 Minute scoring period commencing will not be counted.
- Any attempts started prior to the 3 Minute scoring time ending will only be counted if they are completed within the 3 Minute scoring period.
Movement Standards:
- Any attempt to deliberately alter the movements or the desired intent of the challenge, including the use of specialist equipment to receive an advantage will void the attempt.
- Weightlifting shoes, wrist wraps, belts, arm or knee sleeves are allowed. Knee wraps, powerlifting suits or straps are not.
- Athlete has to use collars.
- The movement starts with the bumper plates that are connected to the barbell on the floor loaded bar connected to the floor, it cannot start off the floor.
- The movement finishes with the bar in the overhead position, any part of the bar over any part of the head, with the knees, hips and arms fully extended.
- The athlete may move the bar from the start position to the finish position in whatever fashion they wish: Muscle, power and squat clean, push press, push jerk, power jerk and split jerk are all permitted. If the athlete chooses to split jerk they must return the feet to centre underneath the bar in order to make the finish position and receive credit for the attempt.
- Touch and go movement from the floor to cycle repetitions is permitted.
- Touch and go movement from the front rack to go straight from the clean into the jerk is permitted
- Athlete must to use collars throughout.
- Any combination of bumper plates or fractional plates is permitted.
