About This Competition

Grab your workout buddy and head to CrossFit Wyre Forest for our end of summer throw down. Get ready for 3 tasty workouts, designed for both RX and Scaled athletes. The workouts for both categories will be the same but with different skill levels and weights. Examples below:

Rx:

Barbell work 60/42.5
Pull-ups
Toes to bar
Box jumps
Double DB movements with 2x22.5/15kg

Scaled:

Barbell work 42.5/30
Jumping pull-ups
Knee raises
Box step ups
Double DB movements 2x15/10kg

Start time 9am
Athlete registration 8-8.30am
WOD brief 8.45am
Approximate finish time 4pm

Workouts

Athletes will work their way through the barbell ladder, starting with the lightest weight and building to failure.

The clock will be set to 1-minute intervals for both athletes to complete their lift. If both athletes complete the lift successfully, they will rest for remaining time in that minute before they move to the next barbell.

If a lift is failed, athletes can attempt the lift as many times as they wish within the 1-minute interval

The barbells will be set in advance; athletes will not be able to adjust the weights

Athletes will lift until they both reach failure

If one athlete fails a lift, the other can continue and their max lifts will be added together for their score

AMRAP 15:

 

Athlete 1: Row for meters

Athlete 2: 1 Snatch, 3 Burpees over bar, 5 Toes to bar

*Every time you swap, add 1 round of snatch, burpees and toes to bar

 

Rx 60/42.5kg Barbell

Scaled 42.5/30kg Barbell, step over bar burpees, knee raises

 

-Score is total meters + total rounds and reps combined-

 

-Athletes can decide who starts on the row/AMRAP

-Once athlete 2 has completed 1 round of the AMRAP, they will swap. Athlete 1 will now complete 2 rounds of the AMRAP, while the other is rowing. Next time they swap, athlete 2 will complete 3 rounds of the AMRAP etc…

-Each time they swap, the athlete must not start rowing until the other athlete has picked up the barbell and then must stop rowing once the other athlete has completed their rounds

-Score will be the total meters when the clock reaches 15:00, plus the total rounds and reps completed by both athletes

For time, 13 min cap:

 

130/100 calorie assault bike

*On 0:00 and every time you swap, perform 5 synchro Double DB Devil’s Press*

*Max of 30/20 cals before athletes must swap

 

Rx 2 x 22.5/15kg Dumbbells

Scaled 2 x 15/10kg Dumbbells

 

-When the clock starts, athletes will go into 5 synchro double DB devil’s press, then the first athlete will get onto the bike

-Athletes can split the calories however they wish, but a maximum of 30/20 calories can be completed before they must swap

-They will perform 5 synchro devil’s press every time they swap

-Athletes do not need to perform the devil’s press once the calorie target has been reached

-Score is time when calories are complete
