About This Competition

Team Format

Same-sex teams of 3

All teammates complete all events together

Workouts will include a mix of:
-Synchronized movements
-Shared work
-Rotational formats
-Team strategy elements

Teamwork and communication will be just as important as fitness.

Divisions:

The competition is structured to allow fair, competitive experiences across multiple skill levels:
• Rx
• Masters (combined age of 125)
• Intermediate
• Scaled

Each division will have clearly defined movement standards and loading, appropriate to the intended athletes. No division will be “watered down”, every division will be challenged.

Athlete Experience

Athletes can expect:
• Clear communication before and during the event
• Structured heat schedules
• Adequate warm-up space
• Professional floor flow with minimal congestion
• Consistent judging standards

From check-in to the final heat, the goal is a smooth, professional, big-event feel without losing the community-first atmosphere.

Facility & Floor Layout

With 17,000 square feet, the competition will be organized into clearly defined zones:
• Competition floor
• Athlete warm-up area
• Team staging area
• Spectator viewing zones
• Recovery and rest spaces

The size of the facility allows for efficient heat transitions, strong sightlines for spectators, and a premium experience for both athletes and guests.

Judging & Standards

• Each team will be assigned a judge before each event
• Judges will enforce movement standards consistently across divisions
• Standards will be released ahead of the event so athletes know exactly what to expect

The focus is on fairness, consistency, and athlete safety.

- Standards & Event 1 will be be released on or before Sunday, January 18th

- Events 2-4 will be released 1-3 weeks following

Event Flow

• Teams will rotate through multiple events across the day
• Events will vary in length and stimulus (short, fast vs. longer grinders)
• Scores will be recorded immediately following each heat
• Leaderboards will be updated throughout the competition

Athletes should expect to be challenged physically while still having time to recover between efforts.

Scoring

• Points-based scoring system (low to high pt system)
• Teams ranked within their division per event
• Lowest cumulative score determines final standings
• Tie-breakers will be clearly defined and communicated

Spectator & Community Atmosphere

This is not just a competition, it’s a facility showcase and community celebration.
• Spectator-friendly layout
• Music, energy, and engagement throughout the day
• Designed to highlight the culture, quality, and future of the gym

Purpose

This ThrowDown exists to:
• Celebrate the opening of our forever home
• Bring people back together through our previous Big Impact Games format
• Set the tone for the level of excellence expected in the new facility
