FDO is back to celebrate a decade of testing the fitness of the WA CrossFit community! Perth's favourite comp is back with something for everyone, from the elite rx athletes to those having a crack at their very first comp. Saturday 22nd July: Rx'd & Beginners

Sunday 23rd July: Masters 35-49, Masters 50+ and Intermediates

*Approx times 7am-4.30pm

 

What are the Standards?

Rx'd

- RX most skills: All intermediate skills, ring/bar muscle ups, strict hspu/hs walks, legless rope climbs

- Ability to move 100/70kg bars for clean and jerks, front squats etc. 80/55kg for snatches

- Rx'd standard for majority of workouts.

Do not have to be amazing at everything. Just able. And if you are able why not do some of the fun stuff!

 

Intermediate

Can rx some workouts but still with some work to do on gymnastics, weightlifting or conditioning levels.

- 60/40kg on things like snatches and clean and jerks

- Strength levels that would allow you to complete most of the classic CrossFit benchmark workouts.

- Kipping hspu, toes to bar, chest to bars (some), ability to pistol and rope climb wih legs

(these are just a guide)

- Remember these are just numbers/guides not absolutes. If you feel ready, have a crack!

 

Beginners/ Masters 35-49/50+

No specific limitations here, fitness is the main test.

New to functional fitness or new to competition. Yet to quite master gymnastics or heavy weights. As a general rule aside from 1rep maxes you won't see much over 40/25kg with the exception of power lifts such as deadlifts

 

Fun, supportive and inclusive atmosphere. We want you to have the best experience possible in potentially one of your first competitions, to hopefully encourage improvements in years to come

 

Masters 35-49/50+ Advanced

More Options this year for your age category!

Can rx'd a large portion of gymnastics skills and close to rx'd weights standard in some movements.

Scale options available if you're unable to do a movement. However it is expected you can do toes to bar, chest to bars, rope climbs, hspu and working towards muscle ups. 50+ will be further scaled down from 35+ in weights

 

*all 50+ Advanced will have a scalable option where movements like muscle ups for example aren't do able

*Masters must be turning 35/50 respectively before the competition date to be eligible for the category they choose.

WOD Releases:

Workouts are released one at a time the week of the competition, however we may put some teasers out prior to that

 

What to Bring?

Whatever you would usually bring to the gym to workout. There will be food trucks and coffee vans available but any nutrition you require to get the most out of your competition. Any event specific equipment we'll let you know closer to the date.

 

Parking

There is no parking on site at the event, however there is ample on the verges and at the Williams street shops (roughly 5:00 walk)

 

*this is a non refundable event, but tickets can be transferred up to 16th of July.
