TORIAN PRO 2022

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Friday 20 May to Sunday 22 May 2022

In 2022 the Torian Pro will return to a same sex pairs cometition for Pro, ProAm, Masters and Emerging divisions, and Elite Individual Teens. 

All athletes competing at the Torian Pro will compete over all three days of competition on the Community Arenas.

Torian Pro Championship Divisions: 

Pro: 40 pairs
ProAm: 40 pairs
Masters  35-49 years: 20 pairs
Masters 50+: 20 pairs
Emerging: 20 pairs
Elite Teen 14-15 years: 8 individuals
Elite Teen 16-17 years: 8 individuals 

To compete, athletes must qualify via the Torian Pro Online Qualifier.

Spectator Tickets

All athletes competing at the Torian Pro receive free entry and access to the Bronze seating (upper bowl) in the main stadium - Pat Rafter Arena.

Please note: Seating in the Bronze section of the stadium is  non-assigned. Assigned seating is only in the Gold and Silver sections.

Workouts

3 attempts for max load of:
3 cleans + 2 front squats + 1 jerk (shoulder-to-overhead)

 
Beginning with the front 5 platforms, athletes will have 90 seconds to complete the complex. When the athletes on the front 5 platforms have completed their first attempt, the cycle repeats, with the back 5 platforms making their first attempt in the same fashion. This sequence continues until all athletes are given 3 lifting windows. 

 
Athletes may only take one attempt at the complex per lifting window. An attempt is considered to be started once the bar has left the ground for the first clean. Athletes may not re-attempt with the time remaining after a failed lift. As long as the bar has left the ground before the 1-minute lifting window ends, any successful attempt will count.

 
Additionally, athletes do not have to make an attempt during each lifting window. Athletes may choose to reduce the load on the bar for their next attempt after a failed lift.

 
NOTE: Power cleans, squat cleans, and split cleans are permitted. 

*Athletes are allowed to begin loading their first attempt as soon as they have taken the comp-floor.

3 rounds for time:

20/15 echo bike calories 

20 feed sack step ups 24/20”

20 one arm dumbbell snatch, alt.

 
This event begins with the athlete on the start mat. At the sound of the beep, they will move to the echo bike to start performing 20/15 calories. Once the 20/15 calories are complete they will move forward to complete 20 box step ups. Next they will move to the dumbbell and perform 20 one arm dumbbell snatches (alternating).They will continue in this pattern, moving the dumbbell forward in the lane every round until they have completed 3 rounds. After the final round of dumbbell snatches, run to the finish. 

*Athletes may not drop the dumbbells. The athlete's hand must remain on the dumbbell all the way to the floor for the rep to count.

 

Teens 16/17 - Event 5 - 30/22kg feed sack step ups, 22/15kg DB snatch

Teens 14/15 - Event 5 - 22/15kg DB step ups, 15/10kg DB snatch

For time:

100ft feed sack lunge 

10 sandbag cleans 

30 burpees over the feed sack

400m run

30 burpees over the feed sack

10  sandbag cleans 

100ft feed sack lunge

Teens 16-17 - Event 2 - 30/22kg feed sack lunge, 10 sandbag cleans 68/45kg, 20 burpees over the feed sack

Teens14-15 - Event 2 - 30/22kg feed sack lunge, 10 sandbag cleans 45/30kg, 20 burpees over the feed sack


Notes: 
This event begins with the athlete on the start mat. At the sound of the beep, the athlete will perform a 100ft feed sack lunge. After the 100ft lunge, the 10 sandbag cleans are completed. Once the athlete has completed the 10 sandbag cleans they will move to the feed sacks and perform 20 burpees over the feed sacks, before setting out on the 400m shuttle run. When the run is completed the athlete will then progress back through the workout in the reverse order until finally they have lunged the feed sacks 100ft across the finish line.

The score is the total time for completing the event.

Notes: 
This event begins with the athlete seated on the rower, with straight legs and their arms behind their back. At the sound of the beep, row 1000/800m. Next perform 100 double unders, then 10 overhead squats. Once the tenth overhead squat are complete run across the competition floor to the finish mat. When the athlete reaches the finish mat, time stops.

 

Scoring: 
The athlete's score is his or her total time for completing the event.

Notes:

This event begins with the pair on the start mat, behind the rig. At the sound of the beep, the athletes will run to the barbell and complete 40 thrusters, sharing the work as they see fit. The non-working athlete waiting behind the designated line. After the thrusters are completed, they will run to the rig. When both teammates have reached the rig, one athlete may begin performing the reps. The pair may switch at any time, however, the non-working teammate must wait behind the rig. After the pair completes 40 reps, one athlete will run forward and move the chess piece down the lane to the next marker, before the pair moves to the barbell to begin their next set of thrusters. The pair will continue in this pattern until they have completed the final set on the rig. After the final rep on the rig, the pair will run over the barbell to the finish.

Time Cap: 12 minutes ⏰

 

This event begins with the team on the start mat. At the sound of the beep, one athlete will move to the echo bike to start performing 20/15 calories, while the other picks up the feed sack to begin performing 20 box step ups. Once the 20/15 calories and 20 box step ups have been completed the athletes will swap and do the same again. Next they will move to the dumbbells and perform 20 synchro one arm dumbbell snatches (alternating). The pair will continue in this pattern, moving the dumbbells forward in the lane every round until they have completed 3 rounds. After the final round of dumbbell snatches, the team will run to the finish. 


*Athletes may not drop the dumbbells. The athlete's hand must remain on the dumbbell all the way to the floor for the rep to count.

Notes: 
This event begins with the pair on the start mat, behind the rig. At the sound of the beep, the pair will run to the barbells and perform 45 synchro deadlifts. After the synchro deadlifts are completed, they will move back to the rig and perform 45 handstand push ups, sharing the reps in any fashion. After the pair completes 45 handstand push ups, one athlete will run forward in the lane and move the chess piece to the next marker before the pair moves to the barbells to begin their next set of 30 synchro deadlifts. They will then move back to the rig before performorming 30 handstand push ups. The pair will continue in this pattern until they have completed the final handstand push up. After the final handstand push up, the pair will run over the barbell to the finish line.

Notes: 

This event begins with the athlete on the start mat, behind the rig. At the sound of the beep they will run to the barbell and perform 45 deadlifts. After the deadlifts are completed, they will move to the rig and perform 21 handstand push ups. After they complete 21 handstand push ups, they will run forward in the lane and move the chess piece to the next marker before returning to the barbell to begin their next set of 30 deadlifts. They will then move back to the rig before performing 15 handstand push ups. They will continue in this pattern until they have completed the final handstand push up. After the final handstand push up, the run over the barbell to the finish line.

This event begins with the athlete on the start mat, behind the rig. At the sound of the beep, they will run to the barbell and complete 21 thrusters. After the thrusters are completed, they will run to the rig to complete 21 bar muscle ups (or C2B pull-ups). After they complete 21 reps, they will run forward and move the chess piece down the lane to the next marker. Next they will move back to the barbell to begin their next set of thrusters. They will continue in this pattern until they have completed the final set on the rig. After the final rep on the rig, the athlete will run over the barbell to the finish.
