Let's Go the (Social) Distance & #GetSweatyWithASmile
Let's go the (social) distance by completing a fun movement challenge. Normally, over Memorial Day Weekend we do the Hero Workout "Murph" to remember our Servicemembers. Well since we can't get together this year we created an endurance test composed of 3 miles of running/walking and 300 reps of various movement. Using either bodyweight or weighted exercises, you'll move through the entire workout, and once completed, log your score on a live digital leaderboard.
Make sure you snap that #getsweatywithasmile selfie so you can show the world you're kicking butt!!!
We are doing this event in conjunction with the Walk for Remembrance - a 24-hour walk around Germantown and Gaithersburg in support of Operation Enduring Warrior - https://give.everydayhero.com/us/crossfit-germantown-performance-oew-fundraiser - Feel free to walk with us for a few miles while you're conducting this challenge.
We strongly advocate for social distancing anytime and anywhere, but it's never fun to workout alone. So this event will be completely open to the public and anyone can register.
Grab your spouse, kids, or gym BFF - to help push each other for yourself and a good cause!
When:
You'll have 24 hours to complete the Let's go the (Social) Distance Challenge starting at 12:00 am on Sunday, May 24th, and concluding at 11:59 pm that same evening. All leaderboard entries must be entered prior to 11:59 pm on Sunday.
What:
We have created two categories: Bodyweight only (BW) & Weighted (WT). There is no time limit and you must complete the workout in the exact order it is written. Your running/walking routes are at your discretion, but we encourage you to walk/run with the Walk for Remembrance Team.
Bodyweight (BW):
Run/walk 1 mile
100 Air Squats
Run/walk 1 mile
100 V-Ups
Run/walk 1 mile
100 Burpees
Weighted (WT):
Run/walk 1 mile
100 Front Squats
Run/walk 1 mile
100 Push Press
Run/walk 1 mile
100 Burpees
Where:
Anywhere - that's the beauty of this event! We hope to see everyone running around town and perhaps you'll even pass another really sweaty person rocking this event.
How:
During the 24-hour event window, hit this workout anytime that fits your schedule.
Once completed, login to our digital leaderboard, create an account and enter your score (total time)
The scoreboard is live and keeps accurate ranking as new times are entered, so make sure to check back throughout the day and send daps to your friends as they complete the workout.
The entire CFGP Staff will be participating along with you. We miss seeing all of you and can't wait till we can see you moving in person, but until then we hope this event brings you a sweaty smile know the reset of your CFGP Fam is moving with you.
