"BATTLE ON THE AIRFIELD 2023" 2-Person Team Functional Fitness/ CrossFit Competition

When: Saturday, Nov. 4th, 2023 8:00AM-4:00PM

Where: SkyRaider CrossFit Gym 4130 Mennes Ave Bldg 1, Riverside, Ca 92509

Athlete Check-in: 6:00AM

Athlete Brief: 7:15AM

BATTLE ON THE AIRFIELD 2023 is a 2-person (MM/FF) CrossFit Team Competition for athletes of advance and intermediate skill levels.

TO REGISTER:

One person registers and pays for the team (team captain). Have team members' names, emails, shirt sizes, etc. available when registering.

Entry fee covers: Team entry fee for 2 persons, (2) Event T-shirts, (1) Team Name Plate, 4+ scored workouts

(MUST SIGN UP BEFORE 10/15/23 TO BE GUARUNTEED CORRECT T-SHIRT SIZE.)

 

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS TO FUTURE EVENTS. NO EXCEPTIONS. Athlete substitution accepted up until event day, by having your new athlete sign your team waiver prior to start of event.

Workouts

SYNCH UP

10 MIN AMRAP

Partners will begin the event by performing 5 synchro chest to bar pull-ups.
Scaled division will perform regular pull ups with the chin coming over the bar every rep.
After pull ups are completed, partners will move onto 7 synchro toes to bar.
Scaled divisions will perform hanging knee raises, knees coming above the hip crease.
After synchro toes to bar are completed, partners will move on to the barbell and perform 9 synchro thrusters, locking out at the top of each thruster together.
Partners will finish off each round with a 200M run with one wall ball. Partners may switch off carrying the wall ball as they desire. Partners must stay together during the entire run.

Workout is scored for rounds and reps.

*If desired, partners may remain on the bar in the transition between synchro pull ups and toes to bar.

EACH PARTNER WILL COMPLETE A TOTAL OF 3 ROUNDS

PARTNER A SPRINTS, COMPLETES 20 WALL BALLS, 6 HANG CLEAN + S2OH = ROUND ONE COMPLETE.
PARTNER B SPRINTS, COMPLETES 20 WALL BALLS, 6 HANG CLEAN + S2OH = ROUND TWO COMPLETE.
ONLY ONE PARTNER WILL WORK AT A TIME ACCUMULATING 3 ROUNDS EACH, 6 TOTAL.

BOTH PARTNERS WILL BEGIN OFF THE ECHO BIKE. PARTNER A WILL JUMP ONTO THE ECHO BIKE ON “GO”, AND MAY SWITCH WITH PARTNER B WHENEVER THEY CHOOSE.
ADVANCED ATHLETES WILL COMPLETE A TOTAL OF 140/120 CALS ON ECHO BIKE.
SCALED ATHLETES WILL COMPLETE A TOTAL OF 110/90 CALS ON THE ECHO BIKE.

PART A SCORED FOR TIME.

WITH THE TIME REMAINING AFTER THE ECHO BIKE CALS ARE HIT, EACH PARTNER WILL PERFORM ONE MAX LIFT.

PARTNER A WILL PERFORM A ONE REP MAX FRONT SQUAT. PARTNER B WILL PROCEED WITH A ONE REP MAX BACK SQUAT. PARTNERS MAY TAKE AS MANY ATTEMPTS AS NEEDED WITHIN THE 12 MINUTE TOTAL TIME CAP.

EACH PARTNER MUST CHOOSE ONE OF THE TWO LIFTS, AND MAY NOT CHANGE MID WORKOUT. PARTNERS WILL SHARE ONE RACK, ONE BARBELL, AND WEIGHTS.

PART B SCORED FOR TOTAL SQUAT WEIGHT COMBINED.

WORKOUT IS A TRIPLET STRUCTURED IN A DESCENDING LADDER. LADDER BEGINS AT 14 REPS, AND ENDS WITH 2 REPS.

3, 2, 1 GO
PARTNER A WILL BEGIN THE WORKOUT PERFORMING DEADLIFTS. PARTNERS MUST EACH COMPLETE AT LEAST ONE REP OF EACH MOVEMENT PER ROUND. PARTNERS CAN SWITCH AS THEY PLEASE.
ONCE ALL REPS ARE COMPLETED ON DEADLIFTS FOR THE DESIGNATED ROUND, PARTNERS WILL BEGIN DUMBBELL BENCH PRESSES, THEN FOLLOW WITH SQUAT CLEANS.
ONCE THE ROUND OF 14 IS COMPLETE FOR EACH MOVEMENT OF THE TRIPLET, PARTNERS WILL BEGIN THE ROUND OF 12 BACK AT THE TOP OF THE MOVEMENTS.
