About This Competition

In 2023 all community divisions of the Torian Pro will compete for the ‘Torian Pro Oceania Championship`in Brisbane, Australia on 26-28 May 2023.

Athletes aiming to qualify for the community Oceania Championships must register for the ‘Torian Pro Online Qualifier` by 5pm (AEST) on the 21st of Feb 2023.

The Torian Pro Online Qualifier will run alongside the CrossFit Open, utilising the same workouts to determine who will qualify to compete live in person at the Torian Pro Oceania Championship.
 
This year will see a return to our roots with the reintroduction of Teams of 4 (2 male/2 female), as well as the return of Individual Masters and Teens. 

Teams may be comprised of any 4 athletes (MM/FF) as long as they have registered to compete in the 2023 CrossFit Games Open.  

Each week teams will enter the combined score for all 4 athletes into Competition Corner where they will be ranked within their respective divisions. Individual Masters and Teen competitors will simply enter their own score.

Torian Pro Online Qualifier dates: 

  • Week 1: February 17 - February 21
  • Week 2: February 24 - February 28
  • Week 3: March 3 - March 7

Score submission deadline each week is Tues at 5pm AEST (Feb 21, Feb 28 & Mar 7).

Should a Team / Individual miss the score submission deadline they will be unable to enter a score for that week.

Torian Pro Championship Divisions:

Top 40 

Pro-Am Team:
Top 41-80

Masters Individual:
35-39 Top 8
40-44 Top 8
45-49 Top 8
50-54 Top 4
55+ Top 4

Teen Individual:
14-15 Top 8
16-17 Top 8

Qualifying Rules:

Pro and Pro-Am divisions will compete together in the Online Qualifier and must complete the CrossFit Open workouts as RX. At the end of the 3 weeks, the top 40 teams will qualify for the Pro division, and teams ranked from 41-80 will qualify for the Pro-Am division. 

All Masters and Teen Individuals must complete all CrossFit Open workouts as RX. A Masters/ Teen athlete’s competitive division will be based on their date of birth. The athlete’s age as of 14 July 2023, will determine which division the athlete will compete in during the 2023 season.

The official CrossFit Open leaderboard will be used to crosscheck and verify all scores entered in the Torian Pro Online Qualifier.

*Should any athlete choose not to register for the Open they will be required to film all qualifying workouts, with at least one workout being called on by the Torian Pro judging team for video review. 

In the event of a tiebreak for a qualifying place at the Torian Pro Championship, the Athlete/Team with the highest workout placing across all three weeks will qualify.

2023 Torian Pro expected competition level: 

Pro Team - Quaterfinal level programming
ProAm Team - Open level programming
Masters Individuals - Open level programming
Teen Individuals - Quaterfinal level programming

Team Roster Changes

Should a team succesfully qualify through the Torian Pro Online Qualifier they will advance to compete live and in person at the Torian Pro.

In the event of injury or some other circumstance beyond your control in the lead up to the Torian Pro, a team may substitute a total of one athlete on their team roster. Subtitutions may occur up until 5pm Friday 19 May 2023.

In the event more than one athlete from the original Team of 4 who qualified through the Torian Pro Online Qualifier is unable to compete, the team will be ineligible to compete at the Torian Pro.

Complete as many reps as possible in 14 minutes of:

60-calorie row
50 toes-to-bars
40 wall-ball shots
30 cleans
20 muscle-ups

 

MASTERS INDIVIDUAL 35-54 & TEENAGERS 16-17

♀ 14-lb ball to 9 ft, 95-lb cleans
♂ 20-lb ball to 10 ft, 135-lb cleans

TEENAGERS 14-15

♀ 10-lb ball to 9 ft, 65-lb cleans
♂ 14-lb ball to 10 ft, 95-lb cleans

MASTERS 55+

♀ 10-lb ball to 9 ft, 65-lb cleans, muscle-ups
♂ 20-lb ball to 9 ft, 115-lb cleans, muscle-ups

23.2A:

Complete as many reps as possible in 15 minutes of:

5 burpee pull-ups
10 shuttle runs (1 rep = 25 ft out/25 ft back)
*Add 5 burpee pull-ups after each round.

 

23.2B:

Immediately following 23.2A, athletes will have 5 minutes to establish:

1-rep-max thruster (from the floor)

 

All Divisions are to perform the workouts as Rx'd.

 

23.2A:

Complete as many reps as possible in 15 minutes of:

5 burpee pull-ups
10 shuttle runs (1 rep = 25 ft out/25 ft back)
*Add 5 burpee pull-ups after each round.

 

23.2B:

Immediately following 23.2A, athletes will have 5 minutes to establish:

1-rep-max thruster (from the floor)

 

All Divisions are to perform the workouts as Rx'd.

 

Starting with a 6-minute time cap, complete as many reps as possible of:
5 wall walks
50 double-unders
15 snatches (weight 1)
5 wall walks
50 double-unders
12 snatches (weight 2)

*If completed before the 6-minute time cap, add 3 minutes to the time cap and
complete:
20 strict handstand push-ups
50 double-unders
9 snatches (weight 3)

*If completed before the 9-minute time cap, add 3 minutes to the time cap and
complete:
20 strict handstand push-ups
50 double-unders
6 snatches (weight 4)
