About This Competition

The Granite Games Throwdown gives athletes new to competition an opportunity to challenge themselves and have a blast doing it!

Our 3-person, same gender team setup allows you to step out onto the competition floor with your best lifting buddies to experience the best of both worlds: all the fun of competition, without that nerve-wracking feeling of going it alone!

Pick your division…

Scaled: For those who are new to competing, share a common goal of functional fitness, and are working toward mastering their skills.

Intermediate: The perfect fit for athletes who love the thrill of competition and have a passion for functional fitness, but who don’t typically Rx daily workouts and may not have yet mastered all movements.

For all workouts and standards head to our website: https://thegranitegames.com/throwdown-compete/

To set you up for success when you arrive onsite, here’s what you need to know:

Thank you for registering for the 2019 Granite Games Winter Throwdown! We are SO excited to have you all. Our change of venue has allowed us to open up our registration to even more teams than our cap! We have a few hours of registration left and have 55 teams registered! We really want to make this a great event and hope the athlete experience is amazing! Thank you SO much for being a part of that!!

Here’s the info you may be asking:

Where is the event?
The Coliseum
900 East Coliseum Drive
Snyder, TX 79549

Where should I enter and park?
The basketball court will take up part of the event floor, so we will use the south part of the facility. Park on the West side of the facility and enter through the doors on that side. Parking is free.

What time does it begin?
The first heat will begin at 8:00am sharp.  With this many teams, we will need to run a tight ship in order to ensure we are staying within our timeline.

When will it end?
The final heat of the final event will be done at 5:00pm, with podium ASAP to follow.

What is the schedule like?
Here’s a ROUGH outline of the day, more accurate times will be available once registration closes, so DEFINITELY check back:
7:15 Athlete Briefing
7:30 All Athletes MUST be checked in
8:00 Event 1/Heat 1 begins
12:00ish Event 3/Heat 1 begins
2:30ish Event 4/Heat 1 begins
5:00ish Event 4/Heat 8 ends
5:30 podium
6:00pm tear down

How will I know what heat I am in?
After registration closes today, I will get the heat and lane assignments sent out. Watch for another email and posts on the Facebook Event page on Thursday.

When can I check in?
We need each athlete to check in (individually, not one per team). All athletes must check in at the Coliseum (900 E Coliseum Dr) between 5:30pm and 7:30pm on Friday, January 11 OR between 6:45am and 7:30am on Saturday, January 12.

When is the athlete briefing?
All teams should plan to attend the athlete briefing.  There are two options: Friday at 7:00pm or Saturday at 7:15am. Both will start promptly and will be at the coliseum.

What if I have questions about the events?
We will quickly go over the events at the athlete briefing. Granite Games has provided event videos for the judges, which I emailed you. They’re short, so PLEASE review them before competing. If you still have questions, please post them on the event page. You can also ask them at the athlete briefing.

Can I make changes to my registration?
ALL changes (team name, division, athletes) MUST be completed by midnight tonight (1/7). You can make those changes by logging into Competition Corner.

Will there be food?
We do have a food truck coming.  We would like to have more options, so if you know of any food trucks available, have them email us at snyder@gmail.com

Will there be vendors?
We are excited to have the following vendors:
Fire & Ice Food Truck
Flex Mafia
Zyia Active
Lonestar Mobile Med
We do have space for more vendors, so if you know of someone who would like to come down, please have them email us at snyder@gmail.com

Are there hotels nearby?
Fairfield by Marriott is the Official Host Hotel. There are a few rooms still available in the block for the Granite Games. The rate is $79 per night and you will just need to tell them you’re coming in for the Granite Games. You can reach the hotel at 325-573-1400. There are other hotels nearby as well.

What if I have other questions?
Post on the event page on FB or message us or email us!!! We are here for you!

No Take-Backs – Life happens—we totally get that. But please be aware that if you cannot participate in the weekend’s events, we cannot offer a refund for any reason.
