About This Competition
On March 28, 2020 CrossFit Maximus will host its FIRST public CrossFit competition....Rally for Rust. This is a Male-Female partner competition with 2 Divisions (RX and Scaled). Registration is capped at 20 RX teams and 20 Scaled teams. There will be a total of 3 equally scored workouts.
All proceeds from the competition will be donated to a scholarship fund for the children of Chelsea and David Rust. Both Chelsea and Dave have been dedicated members of the Maximus community since 2011. Chelsea is fiercely and courageously battling Stage 4 breast cancer.
All participants receive a T-shirt with registration. Prizes for both divisions provided by Reebok, YETI, Picsil, and more!
DIVISION STANDARDS: Please refer to the guide below for help deciding on division.
RX
- Athletes in this division perform most benchmark workouts with Rx weights and movements while meeting all movement standards. Benchmark workouts include some of the following but not limited to: Fran, Helen, DT, Grace.
- Athletes are comfortable with skills and have typically been doing Crossfit for 1 year or longer.
- Proficiency performing movements with dumbbells at 50/35lbs.
- Athletes comfortable performing pull ups, toes to bar, double unders in workouts.
- Workouts will be designed so you can break reps up as needed, and there are no "work minimums" for each athlete, meaning your partner can do more of the work in certain movements if needed.
- Higher skill gymnastics could be programmed, but not required to enter this division. Workouts will still be possible if only one or neither athlete has the skill, and a tiebreak time will be recorded for scoring. In this case, total time or total reps will earn placements for the event.
SCALED
- Athletes perform some movements Rx but modify many benchmark workouts (Fran, Helen, Grace, DT, etc) due to strength or gymnastic ability while still meeting all movement standards.
- Athletes in this division can sometimes do a kipping pull up or toe to bar, but maybe not in workouts yet.
- Athletes in this division should not have previous Rx competition experience.
- Comfortable with clean and jerks in workouts at 115/75#.
- Comfortable with single unders, hanging knee raises, ring rows, jumping pull ups
- Proficiency performing any movement with dumbbells at 40/25lb
- Workouts will be designed so you can break reps up as needed, and there are no "work minimums", meaning your partner can do more of the work in certain areas if needed.
