About This Competition

Battle of the Border - Triple3 is a competition like no other. With each team completing 4 tests across mixed domains all within a 2 hour time window we set out to test your stamina, strength, power and skill aswell as your ability to work well and strategise as a team. 

with 2 ability categories on offer and no gymnastic skill elements this competition is set out to be a test for all

Workouts

For time: (30 minute cap)

1km run (all 3)

90 slam balls (A1:20 A2:30 A3:40)

2000m/1750m row + 4000/3500m bike erg

1km run (all 3)

30 devils press (split as you like)

2000m/1750m row + 4000/3500m bike erg

Compete M: 20kg slam ball + 22.5kg Dumbbells

Compete F: 15kg slam ball + 15kg Dumbbells

Open M: 15kg slam ball + 15kg Dumbbells

Open F: 10kg slam ball + 10kg Dumbbells

 

-All 3 athletes complete run together but do not need to return together

-1st athlete may advance on to slam balls before team mates return.. once their set of slam balls is complete they may advance to ergs with team mates joining once they have completed their set of slam balls.

-Once meters on both ergs are complete all 3 advance on to complete another 1km run. Athletes may begin working through slam balls as soon as they return without waiting on team mates to return. 

-All 30 devils press must be complete before advancing to ergs.

-Once all meters are completed on both ergs your workout is complete!

Any reps not completed in the 30 minute cap will be added on to your finish time where 1 rep = 1 second

In a 15 minute window establish:

Athlete 1: 8 rep max back squat

Athlete 2: 6 rep max front squat 

Athlete 3: 4 rep max Shoulder to overhead

 

Score = combined weight of all 3 heaviest lifts in kg

Athletes may lift in any order within the 15 minute window 

Any form of Shoulder to overhead is permitted

Lifts must be completed within the 15 minute window to count

60 Axle bar clean and jerks

Workout 3B (AMRAP) *Starts imediately after completion of 3A

80 Axle bar deadlifts

20 Hurdle jumps

60 Axle bar front rack lunge

20 Sabdbag hurdle jumps

40 Axle bar Shoulder to overhead

20 burpees over hurdle

20 Sandbag cleans

 

Compete Male: 60kg Axle, 60kg sandbag

Compete Female + Open Male: 40kg Axle, 40kg sandbag

Open Female: 25kg Axle, 30kg sandbag

16 burpee box overs (facing)

30/24 calorie assault bike

 

Compete M + Open M:

24" box, 30 calorie assault bike

Compete F + Open F:

20" box, 24 caloreis

 

-Step overs permitted for open M+F categores, Compete M+F must jump. Step down is not required.

-After completion of assault bike calories a clear tag must be made off the bike before the next athlete can start the round.

-Score = total time once all 3 athletes have completed their round and are back behind the start line.
