Welcome to the 2024 Scandinavian Throwdown Buddy Qualifiers.

  • Qualifiers: June 3rd to July 3rd, 2024
  • Finals: October 19th, 2024
  • Location: Baltiska Hallen, Malmö, Sweden

General info

The success of our competitions is the focus on the beginning athlete. By beginning athlete we mean anyone who has little to no competition experience and wants to experience this as a team. Our competitions are also the perfect start for your progression to higher level competitions.

We want everyone who participate, regardless of their fitness level, to experience the feeling of being on the competition floor, cheered by hundreds of spectators, friends and family and where you can shine in our community. 

Our competitions do not have an elite division because it does not fit within our beginner concept. The organization reserves the right to: 

  • refuse these athletes at its individual and buddy competitions;
  • reassign these athletes to a higher division at its buddy division (is considered on a case-by-case basis).

If you have any doubts whether you can participate or not, we ask you to inform us in advance by sending us an email via the email address you can find below.

The concept:

  • earn your team spot to the finals via the qualifier;
  • designed for the beginner athlete;
  • if you make it to the finals >>> NO multiple, long, hard workouts spread out over 2 or more days;
  • only 1 day of competition for ALL divisions;
  • tight time schedule so everyone knows when to start and when it is done;
  • ALL participants are doing 3 different workouts spread out during the day with NO cut-off;
  • NO finals to determine the 1th, 2th and 3th place overall;
  • testing endurance, strength, power, skill, bodyweight exercises or a mix of all mentioned;
  • we offer a parent/kid division in our Buddy edition with custom workouts.

The competition includes four levels to play:

  • Scaled
  • Regular
  • Advanced
  • RX

Unique in the Scandinavian Throwdown divisions are the sub-divisions. You can team up in the following sub-divisions:

  • M/M
  • F/F
  • M/F
  • M/M 70+ (not in RX)
  • F/F 70+ (not in RX)
  • M/F 70+ (not in RX
  • Dad/Kid (Age kid 6-12)
  • Mom/Kid (Age kid 6-12)

  • RX: 60/40 kg + C2B pull-ups + 9/6 kg WB
  • Adv: 50/35 kg + Pull-ups + 9/6 kg WB
  • Reg: 40/30 kg + Jumping Pull-ups + 6/4 kg WB
  • Sca: 30/20 kg + Jumping Pull-ups + 6/4 kg WB
  • Kids: Dumbbells, 2 x 7 / 5 kg + Ring-rows (one ring) + 4 kg WB thruster

TIMECAP 10 min

Cash in: 1500 m row (share but each athlete needs to do at least 250 meter)

Then, AMRAP

  • 5 sync burpee box jump-over
  • 20 alternating DB snatch


STANDARDS

Boxes for all divisions 60 / 50 cm

  • RX: 22,5 / 15 kg
  • Adv: 20 / 12,5 kg
  • Reg: 15 / 10 kg + Step-overs allowed
  • Sca/Par: 12,5 / 7 kg + Step-overs allowed
  • Kids: 5 / 3 kg + Step-overs allowed

This workout has a tiebreaker. Note your time after the last deadlift and submit that along with your final score.

TIMECAP 14 min

  • 100 deadlift (weight 1)
  • 80 Toes-to-bar
  • 60 deadlift (weight 2)
  • 40 chest-to-bar pull-ups
  • 20 deadlift (weight 3)
  • 10 bar muscle-ups


WEIGHTS

  • RX: 60/40 -> 80/55 -> 100/70
  • Adv: 50/35 -> 65/45 -> 80/55
  • Reg: 40/25 -> 55/35 -> 70/45
  • Sca/Par: 30/20 -> 45/30 -> 60/40
  • Kids: 15/10 -> 20/15 -> 30/20

GYMNASTICS

  • RX: T2B -> C2B -> BMU
  • Adv: T2B -> Pull-ups -> C2B
  • Reg: Single leg T2B -> Jumping PU -> Pull-ups
  • Sca/Par: Knee raises -> Ring Rows -> Pull-ups
  • Kids: Knee raises -> Ring Rows -> Ring Rows
