About This Competition

ESC Obstacle race for John

Saturday September 13th

100% of proceeds will go to John and Kim.

Kim and John have been members of the local CrossFit community since 2014. They are also local business owners in the Ephrata area. John was recently involved in a serious scooter accident. He sustained multiple injuries—including a traumatic head injury—and is currently under sedation while being closely monitored. The road ahead is long, uncertain, and filled with emotional and financial challenges.

We are looking for sponsors who will donate to event costs. I’m not setting a “tier” system we’re strictly operating off,  what do you feel led to give or provide. Biggest expenses will be shirts, prizes, volunteer appreciation.

If you want to volunteer to help judge email us! Brandtz24@hotmail.com

The race will operate in “heats” based off the order of registration. Race heats will alternate male heat, female heat every 30-60 minutes based off participant registration for event. There will be 10 teams per heat.

Example: Heat will be capped at one hour

8:00am-9:00am - Women's heat 1

9:05am- 10:05am - Men's heat 1

10:10-11:10am - Women's Heat 2

We will have a podium at the end for top 3 men’s teams and top 3 women’s teams.

Please remember this event is for charity so it will be a little bit more laid back, relaxed and inclusive. More so than our past Farmland Games competitions.

There are no divisions in terms of rx, scaled or masters. We have open men and open women. The event has been made relatively possible for anyone with any fitness background.

**All 400m laps will be completed by both partners running at the same time. One sandbag between the two of you.

**All “events” will be completed by partners splitting the workload anyway they want. The only rule is only one partner will work at a time in a “you go/ I go” fashion. Otherwise known as “I work while you rest/ you work while I rest”.

**For event #4 (15ft rope climbs) if you and your partner are physically incapable of completing rope climbs you may opt to do 100ft hand over hand sled drag. Please remember this option is reserved for teams where both partners can’t climb the rope.
