Welcome to The 2022 Humid Throwdown!

ARE YOU READY!! Welcome to the 2022 Humid Throwdown! It is year THREE of this awesome event and we are excited to announce that our 2 person team competition will be going down at our brand new 4000+ sq ft location in the heart of Beaufort, SC. Looked forward to some gymnastics, high rep olympic lifting, and a chance to show how well you can move some weight! Registration goes live Monday, May 23rd @ 8am.

Workouts

For time (RX):

100 Zeus Rope Double Unders

80 Toe to Bar

60 Power Snatches @ 105/70

40 Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees

For time (Scaled):

100 Zeus Rope Single Unders

80 Knee Raises

60 Power Snatches @ 75/55

40 Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees

Standards:

  • Athletes can split all work as needed except for the synchronized burpees. However, athletes must tage out with their partner in order to switch. The non-working partner will be standing in a designated area.

  • For toe to bar, both feet must touch the bar that the same time and come back past the plane of the bar, for scaled athletes, the knees must come higher than the waist and both feet back past the bar.

  • Power snatches are from the ground and finished with arms, legs and hips locked out.

  • For synchronized burpees, the rep starts when both athletes are on the ground, and they finish on the other side on the ground. RX athletes must jump over the bar, scaled athletes can step over the bar.

  • 10 MINUTE CAP

For max reps:

0-2:30

Calories on the Echo Bike

2:30-5:00

Sandbag to Shoulder (RX 150/100, Scaled 100/75)

*Athletes can switch at any time

*The sandbag clean stops at the shoulder. Athletes must show full lower body lock out for the rep to count

WORKOut 1: The Humidity Complex

Athletes establish a max complex of:

1 Clean + 2 Front Squats + 1 Jerk

*Each partner will have 3 attempts each

*One athlete will lift in a 90 sec clock time frame then rotate (9min total)

*Team score is combined total

*Any form of clean and jerk is acceptable

*Athletes must announce weight prior to their lift and have clamps on bar before the lift

0 - 6 minutes (Part A)

1000m Row

Max Wallballs in the remaining time @ 20/14lbs to 10'/9' (RX) and 14/10 to 10/9' Scaled

6 - 7 minutes

Rest

7 - 9 minutes (Part B)

Max Handstand Push Ups (RX) and Max Shoulder to Overhead @ 75/55 (Scaled)

*Part A and Part B are scored as two seperate workouts

Standards:

  • 1000m Row can be split evenly. The last athlete must wait till the monitor is at 0m before getting off

  • Wallballs must start in the squat and finish with the wallball making contact at the designated height

  • The handstand pushups will be in a designated box. Athletes hands must stay in the box for each rep to count. Athletes must start in a locked out position to begin the rep, come down till their head touches the mat, then show full arm lock out at the top of the rep for a good rep.

  • Shoulder to Overhead can be any press (Strict, Push Press, Push Jerk, Split Jerk). Athletes must start in the front rack and finish each rep fully locked out with hips and legs fully extended. Feet must be in line if athletes split jerk.

0 - 6 minutes (Part A)
