Lifting weights & funds for the Breast Cancer charity, Compete for a Cure!

EVENT DATE: 9th November, 2024
EARLY BIRD ENDS: 31st August, 2024
FREE SHIRT DEADLINE: 20th October, 2024
ENTRIES CLOSE: 3rd November, 2024 (unless it sells out first)
*No refunds will be provided but a transfer of entry to another competitor is allowed if you need to withdraw from the competition
*If under 18, the athlete must have their parent/guardian sign their waiver & be present at the competition.
DIVISIONS:
Junior Athletes
Athletes from 12 - 20 years of age
Scored using the athletes Sinclair coefficient
Masters Athletes
Athletes from 40 years of age & older
Scored using the athletes Sinclair coefficient
Open Athletes
Athletes between 21 - 39 years of age
This division has 5 bodyweight classes:Under 125 lbs
Under 145 lbs
Under 170 lbs
Under 195 lbs
195 lbs & Over
Scored using the athletes Totalbest snatch + clean & jerk
OLYMPIC LIFTS

1 minute to take your attempts
No previous experience is necessary

FUNDRAISING
$5 of every entry fee is donated to Compete for a Cure & we aim to fundraise an extra $1000 through community donations!

Our olympic weightlifting events do not require a weightlifting suit or shoes but these are allowed. Athletes normal gym clothing is encouraged but loosely fitted shirts and pants that cover the elbows and knees are not allowed. Lifting accessories like belts, wrist wraps, thumb tape and knee sleeves are allowed. Straps are not.
MANDATORY ATHLETE CHECK-IN
All athletes must weigh in and provide their opening attempts at check in which will be between 7:30 - 8:30am the morning of your event

In this event, you will have (3) attempts to find your 1RM Clean & Jerk. Your opening lift will be given at check-in on the day of the event and you cannot change this once check-in is complete. After completing your first attempt, please head over to the scoring table to announce your 2nd attempt and so on until all three attempts are completed.
Only your highest, successful lift will be used for your Sinclair score. For a successful attempt, you will need to obtain a minimum of 2 out of 3 white lights/paddles from the judges.
