THE SUFFOLK GAMES TEAM EVENT

The day: The Event will run from 9:00am – 5:30pm (latest). Workout 1 will begin at 9am with Suffolk Games Champions presentation aiming to be at 5pm.
Registration: Athletes will be able to arrive and register from 7:30am with last registration by 8:30am. We ask all athletes to submit their exercise waiver through Aretas before the 13th July, which is done when you register. Waivers will only be available online. Your participation in the event will only be confirmed once your waivers have been signed.
Workouts and Briefing: Workout descriptions and standards will be available on Aretas from Monday, 1st July.
WE KINDLY ASK ALL ATHLETES TO FAMILIARISE THEMSELVES WITH THE WORKOUTS AND STANDARDS BEFORE JULY 13th.
Doing so will ensure the heats can run smoothly with minimum time required between changeovers.
There will be a short athlete briefing that will begin at 8:30am. The briefing will run through the workouts and allow the opportunity for athletes to ask any questions they may have.
Please note, we are aiming to start Heat 1 promptly at 9am
Spectators: Spectators will be able to enter the venue from 8:30am (unless you are entering early with a Team) and there on throughout the day. Tickets acquired before the event will be signed off but there will also be Standard Spectator tickets available on the day.
Parking: There is plenty of parking available at the venue itself with over 500 car capacity. Volunteers will be on hand at the entrance of the venue and staggered to help guide you to a space and competition area. When you enter the venue, continue driving to the bottom of the tarmac road, turning right at the bottom through the gate. Suffolk Games parking will be on the left hand side and signposted.
Waivers: Each participating athlete is required to sign a Suffolk Games Waiver before competing. The waivers are part of your registration so please ensure all team-mates have registered and signed to enable you to compete on the day.
The Venue: The workouts themselves will take place outside at Trinity Park, within a fenced arena. In severe weather circumstances, the venue has 2 large undercover areas which can be used for the workouts and cover for athletes / spectators. Spectator activities, seating and vendors will also be available on the day.
The Format of the day:
Teams will complete 4 workouts throughout the day. Teams will be divided into 5 separate heats consisting of 13 teams. Each team will be assigned a lane prior to the event. Each lane will have all the equipment needed throughout the day, weather depending.
Scoring:
Scoring of each workout will see teams receive points aligning with their finish position in that workout. The teams accumulating the LOWEST points total over the 4 workout being deemed the Suffolk Games Champions. There will be no cut or re-set , each team will complete 4 workouts. The points total will accumulate with each workout ( please see Suffolk Games workouts for confirmation of how they are individually scored). Once all 65 teams have completed each workout , the final standings will be announced. The Suffolk Games is pleased to say they will be using TEAM ARETAS as their scoring software for the day. The Heat times are subject to change throughout the day. While we will have everything in place to keep as close as we can to the timings, we ask all athletes to thoroughly read the Heat times and be listening to all announcements on the day. This should allow the day to run smoothly and stick to the above timings.
