About This Competition

Flax2’s is a two-day functional fitness competition delivered under the kaupapa of Te Awa o Te Atua, celebrating strength, resilience, and community. Hosted in partnership with CrossFit 879 Flaxmere and Flaxmere Fitness Studio, this event brings athletes together to compete, connect, and represent their people with pride.

Grounded in hauora and collective wellbeing, Flax2’s is designed to challenge individuals through teamwork, discipline, and shared effort. This is more than competition — it is a space where whānau, community, and athletes come together to uplift one another.

This year, Flax2’s also acknowledges and celebrates Mother’s Day weekend. As part of this kaupapa, we honour our māmā — the strength of our whānau — with a special moment of appreciation. On Saturday morning, our men will provide breakfast for all mothers in attendance, recognising their contribution, sacrifice, and leadership within our communities.

50 thrusters
30 chest-to-bar pull-ups
♀ 45 lb (20 kg)
♂ 65 lb (29 kg)

Pairs can share the reps
Time cap: 25 minutes

26.2 RUAMANO

Partner A has 6 minutes to build a heavy complex

1 x Deadlift

1 x Hang Squat Clean

1 x Shoulder 2 Overhead

Remainder time completes as many reps as possibly of deadlifts

Partner B has 6 minutes to build a heavy complex

1 x Deadlift

1 x Hang Squat Clean

1 x Shoulder 2 Overhead

Remainder time completes as many reps as possibly of deadlifts

 

Score is Total complex weight + reps of deadlifts 

 

26.3 ALL DAY BABY

100 double unders

50 Alternating DB Snatch

30 DB Bench Press

In the remainder of time as many reps as possible of synchronised burpees

**EVERY 2 MINUTES

5 Synchronised Air Squats
