Workouts

Event Description: Athletes will have three x four-minute intervals to complete as many rounds and reps as possible of 8 toes to bar (hanging knee raises), 6 deadlifts, and 4 hang power cleans. Athletes will rest for two minutes between intervals and add additional weight. Athletes may not receive help changing weights during the rest period. Each interval starts at the 0 rep mark – meaning athletes will start each interval with a new set of toes to bar, regardless of where they finished the previous interval. The final score is total reps completed in all three intervals combined.

Division Requirements:

-       RX: Toes To Bar – The athletes heels must break the bar plane behind the athlete at the start of the movement, and both feet striking the bar simultaneously at the end of the movement.

-       Scaled: Hanging Knee Raise - The athletes heels must break the bar plane behind the athlete at the start of the movement, and both knees must raise above the athletes waist simultaneously at the end of the movement.

-       RX and Scaled: Deadlifts – The athlete must pick up the barbell from the floor using any grip and finish with the bar at hip level, with hips and knees at full extension (standing straight up). Bending at the arms or “bouncing” reps at the bottom is not permitted.

-       RX and Scaled: Hang Power Cleans – The athlete will start the movement at the hang position and finish with the bar in the front rack position with elbows in front of the bar and with knees and hips fully extended (standing). Athletes are not permitted to perform a power clean from the floor, and must first deadlift then perform a hang power clean.

-       RX Barbell:

o   Men: 45lbs Barbell with clips – Round 1: 95lbs, Round 2: 135lbs, Round 3: 185lbs

o   Women: 35lbs Barbell with clips – Round 1: 65lbs, Round 2: 95lbs, Round 3: 115lbs

-       Scaled Barbell:

o   Men: 45lbs Barbell with clips – Round 1: 75lbs, Round 2: 95lbs, Round 3: 115lbs

o   Women: 35lbs Barbell with clips – Round 1: 55lbs, Round 2: 75lbs, Round 3: 85lbs

Video Rules: Athletes must first state their name, their division, the workout, and showcase all equipment being used in order to validate correct equipment requirements are being met. All athlete movements, to include specific standard meeting requirements must be visible throughout the video. A clock (either with the athlete or screen embedded (such as WeTime)) must be visible throughout the workout.

Scoring: Scores for this workout will be determined by the athlete’s ability to complete the prescribed work and the online judges ability to determine the athletes efforts. All movements must meet the event description (utilize CrossFit’s Judges course as the most updated standard). Any athlete’s action or movement that is deemed questionable to fulfilling the workout standard or workout integrity may result in score penalties or disqualification without refund. Nine27 Athletics reserves the right to determine all final scores.

Liability Disclaimer: By participating in this workout, you are accepting any physical liability and other workout associated risks upon yourself. Nine27 Athletics holds no responsibility for any facility or equipment damages nor any injuries to any persons completing the workouts, assisting with this workout, or in vicinity of this workout.

Event Description: Athletes will have fourteen minutes to complete as many rounds and reps as possible (AMRAP) of 10 wall walks (or 20 Hand release push ups), 40 alternating dumbbell snatches, 100 double unders (or 100 single unders), 40 box jump overs (or 40 box step ups), and 10 ring muscle ups (or 20 jumping pull-ups). The final score is the total reps completed in fourteen minutes. The event tie breaker is at what time the athlete completes their first round of dumbbell snatches.

Division Requirements:

-       RX: Wall Walks – Athletes must tape two lines from the wall – one at 10in (no wider than 2in) and one 55in for women and one 60in for men (no wider than 2in). Athletes will start on the ground, with heels against the wall, thighs and chest touching the floor, and some part of the hand touching the respective furthest tape (55/60in marks). Athletes must push up then climb their legs up the wall until some part of both hands are on the closest tape (10in) simultaneously. Athletes must control their decent – with the hands reaching the furthest tape before the rest of the body meets the ground (utilize 2023 CrossFit Open standard).

-       Scaled: Hand Release Push Ups – Athletes will start on the ground with thighs and chest touching the floor. Athletes will lift hands briefly off the ground by at least 1in (visible on camera), then push up, with hips and chest rising simultaneously until the elbow is completely locked out. Athletes must control their decent.

-       RX and Scaled: Alternating Dumbbell Snatches – Athletes will start the movement with the both heads of the dumbbell on the ground between their feet and will raise the dumbbell in one motion overhead – with the shoulder and elbow extended with the dumbbell over the trunk of the body. Athletes will alternate hands between reps, and may do so in any fashion. The next rep begins when the dumbbell is in the other hand and both heads of the dumbbell strike the floor simultaneously.

-       RX: Double Unders – Athletes will start the movement with the jump rope in hand and the slack of the rope behind the athlete. Once the rope moves twice under the athletes feet in a single jump, the rep is complete.

-       Scaled: Single Unders - Athletes will start the movement with the jump rope in hand and the slack of the rope behind the athlete. Once the rope moves once under the athletes feet in a single jump, the rep is complete.

-       RX: Box Jump Overs – Athletes will use a two foot take off to jump on top of the box and then over after both feet touch the top of the box. Athletes may step or jump off the box after both feet have made it to the top of the box. Athletes are not required to stand on top of the box.

-       Scaled: Box Step Ups- Athletes will step up to the top of the box, ending with both feet on the box and hips and knees fully extended. Athletes may step or jump off the box after both feet have made it to the top of the box and can alternate legs in any fashion.

-       RX: Ring Muscle Ups – Athletes will start at a complete hang from the rings with shoulders and elbows locked out. Using a kip or strict method, athletes will reach the dip position and complete a full dip with elbows extended at the top of the rep. If athletes use a kip, they are not permitted for feet to pass above the eyes at the beginning of the rep.

-       Scaled: Jumping Pull Ups- Athletes will start at an assisted hang position with shoulders and elbows locked out but with feet on the floor or a platform. Athletes will jump until the chin is clearly above the bar above. Athletes may use as high of a platform that will allow for full hanging lock out with knees bent.

Event Description: Athletes will have seven minutes to complete 40 over rower burpees and as many calories as possible on the rower in time remaining. The tiebreak for this event is at what time the 40 burpees are completed.

Division Requirements:
- RX and Scaled: Burpees – Athletes will start standing upright with knees and hips extended. Athletes will fall to the ground and must demonstrate hips, thighs, and chest touching the ground. Athletes can rise off of the ground in any fashion, and must use a two foot take off jump to clear the rolling/seat section of the rower. The rep is complete once the athlete lands on the other side of the rower. Athletes can face any direction and use any technique to get up and down. Athletes must jump over the rower, not around it.

- RX and Scaled: Rowing – Athletes will start rowing once the concept 2 screen is registered and showing ‘CALORIES’. Athletes must have feet strapped into the rower and may not receive any help getting settled into the rower. The video camera must be able to see the calorie count in the video screen during the entire row.

- RX and Scaled Equipment:
o Space for burpees and a functioning Concept 2 Rower

Event Description: Athletes will have a 15 minute time cap to complete 27-21-25-9 of thrusters with a 200ft shuttle run to begin each round (event 4). At the 15 minute mark, athletes will have 10 minutes to achieve a one rep max clean and jerk (event 5).  The athlete’s tiebreak for both events will be the time at which the athlete completes their second 200ft shuttle run. Athletes may place their barbell in any place as long as both ends of the shuttle run and thruster/clean and jerk platform are visible for video purposes. If athletes complete event 4 before the 15 minute time cap, they may perform ‘warm-up’ clean and jerks – however, only clean and jerks completed after the 15 minute mark (into the follow on 10 minute window) will be scored. There is no limit to clean and jerk attempts, but only reps within the 10 minute window will count.

Division Requirements:

-       RX and Scaled: Shuttle Run – Athletes must place two (camera visible) markings 25ft apart. Athletes will start with both feet behind the line and run to the opposite marker, placing both feet completely and clearly beyond the line of gain before turning around. One rep will be counted for each 25ft segment completed. The athlete must complete four down-and-back shuttle runs to achieve a total of 200ft. Athletes do not need to touch the marker or beyond the marker with their hand. For video purposes, please show either a 5ft measurement from the starting line or a traditional 45lb barbell from the starting line to demonstrate appropriate length.

-       RX and Scaled: Thrusters – Athletes will take the bar from the floor and perform a clean (any variant) to achieve the front rack position, with elbows in front of the bar. Athletes must complete a full front squat, with the hip crease passing below the knee crease and stand with hip and knees extended while achieving an overhead press – with shoulders and elbows locked out with the barbell over the center of the body – all in one fluid movement. Stopping at the top of the front squat and performing an overhead press is not permitted.

-       RX and Scaled: Clean and Jerk – Athletes will take the bar from the floor and perform a clean (any variant) to achieve the front rack position, with elbows in front of the bar. This will be followed by a shoulder to overhead movement (any variant) and achieve overhead lockout with shoulders and elbows locked out with the barbell over the center of the body. Athletes must return their feet under the body with knees and hips locked out for the rep to count.
