6 minute EMOM
Athletes will start in the first lifting square, non-lifting team member must be to the side. On the call of '3,2, 1, Go!' the first team member will complete 1 thruster, athlete 2 will then complete 1 thruster.
Athletes will work their way through 6 barbells of ascending weight completing 1 thruster each for the first 5 barbells. Teams will have 50 seconds within the minute to complete a lift each. At the final bar, athletes are permitted to complete as many thruster reps as possible as long as they keep within the 50 seconds.
This is a standard barbell thruster in which the barbell starts on the ground and moves from the bottom of a front squat to full lockout overhead. Athletes can choose to either power clean the bar before performing the thruster OR they can perform a full squat clean into the thruster (cluster)
If an athlete successfully completes the lift, they can pass to the next bar.
If partner A fails but partner B succeeds, partner B can still progress to the next weight. Athletes must successfully complete the weight at the station before moving onto the next weight, They cannot choose to miss a weight.
The hip crease must clearly pass below the top of the knees in the bottom position. The barbell must come to a full lockout overhead, with the hips, knees and arms fully extended, the feet aligned under the hips, and the bar directly over the middle of the athlete’s body when viewed in profile.
The barbell must not be dropped from above the shoulders. Athletes must be out of their lifting square before the start of the next minute or they will receive a penalty.
Any athlete who has not left their current station by the start of the next minute will be penalised and 1 rep will be deducted.
