About This Competition

NZ Champs consists of both online and in-person competitions that form the CrossFit Licensed Event.

Starting with the online Individual competition and ending with an in person Individual and Team event. The Individual Online Qualifier is the first stage of the NZ Champs. It includes a series of tests, with one or more tests released as stated in Competition Corner. The qualifier tests are released on the competition corner website. Athlete performances in each test are judged, validated, and ranked on the competition corner leaderboard. The top qualifying individual athletes from each division will qualify to compete at the next stage of competition. Precise start and end dates for the NZ Champs will be announced on the competition corner website.

 

NZ Champs is a competition that is building to align itself with the standards of a semi-final but allowing a pathway for the Beginner, Intermediate, and Elite to grow and be the best version of themselves. To showcase the best of New Zealand from all divisions of individuals.

This is a CrossFit Licensed Event. It is required that all competitors have an account with CrossFit.com.

- Females: 15kg barbell thrusters, pull-ups
- Males: 20kg barbell thrusters, pull-ups

Intermediate
- Females: 15kg barbell thrusters, pull-ups
- Males: 20kg barbell thrusters, pull-ups

Scaled
- Females: 15kg barbell thrusters, jumping pull-ups
- Males: 20kg barbell thrusters, jumping pull-ups

Workout 2

Time cap: 16 minutes

 

For time:

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Strict handstand push-ups

Squat cleans

*30 double-unders after each round

 

Elite/Rx
- Females: strict handstand push-ups, squat cleans @ 35kg, double-unders
- Males: strict handstand push-ups, squat cleans @ 50kg, double-unders


Intermediate
- Females: handstand push-ups, squat cleans @ 30kg, double-unders
- Males: handstand push-ups, squat cleans @ 40kg, double-unders


Scaled
- Females: double dumbbell push press @ 10kg, squat cleans @ 25kg, single-unders
- Males: double dumbbell push press @ 15kg, squat cleans @ 35kg, single-unders

Workout 3a

On a 15 minute running clock.

Elite/Rx
- Females: 2 x 22.5 kg dumbbells, bar muscle-ups
- Males: 2 x 30kg dumbbells, bar muscle-ups


Intermediate
- Females: 2 x 15kg dumbbells, chest-to-bar pull-ups
- Males: 2 x 22.5kg dumbbells, chest-to-bar pull-ups


Scaled
- Females: 2 x 10kg dumbbells, pull-ups
- Males: 2 x 15kg dumbbells, pull-ups

On a 15 minute running clock beginning in Workout 3a.

At 9 minutes:

Time cap: 6 minutes

 

Find your 1RM for the following complex:

3 Hang Cleans
2 Front Squats
1 Jerk

 

 

 

Workout 4

Time cap: 20 minutes

 

5 rounds for time:

8 shuttle runs

15 single-arm dumbbell overhead squats

15 burpee box jump-overs 24"/20"

 

1 shuttle run equals 15m (7.5m there, 7.5m back).

 

Elite/Rx
- Females: 1 x 22.5kg dumbbell
- Males: 1 x 30kg dumbbell


Intermediate
- Females: 1 x 15kg dumbbell
- Males: 1 x 22.5kg dumbbell
