Ahikā CrossFit Boys Day Out
About This Competition
On Friday 5 December, Ahikā CrossFit are hosting the annual Boys Day Out. This is an all-day event held at Ahikā CrossFit, McKenzie Pools and Te Whiti Riser.
The workouts will be prescribed as Rx, but as is always the case in CrossFit, they are infinitely scalable. This event is coordinated by Grant, Fraser and Rawiri, who will explain the workouts and can assist with scaling, but they are not there to coach, as they will be working out alongside you.
This event will be in teams of three. Register as an individual and the teams will be sorted on the day.
The fee for this event covers the pool hire, breakfast and coffee at Caffiend, and possibly some “hydration” after the final WOD.
You do need to be able to swim for the Boys Day Out. If you aren't especially confident in the water, be assured that you will be able to touch the bottom of the pool as it is only waist deep.
Note: This is not a scored event, nor a competition. The kaupapa of this event is to raise awareness of men’s health by coming together to workout, share kai and stories in a supportive space. There are too many men struggling in silence with their mental health, so this is an opportunity to come together to throwdown for fun and support each other because mental health is equally, if not more important as physical health.
There are 30 places available for this event. Registrations close on Thursday 4 December at 12.00 pm,
There are no refunds. If after registering you find you can no longer attend, then you can sell your ticket to someone else.
Keep an eye out for updates or if you have any questions sing out to either Fraser, Grant or Ra. The workouts will be released on this platform to give you a chance to consider any scaling options ahead of the big day.
