Adaptive Games 2019
About This Competition
Academy Fitness CIC in partnership with BoxLife Events brings you the first 'Adaptive Games' to be held during the Battle of Britain over Easter weekend 19th - 21st April 2019.
The Adaptive Games will be a one day event taking place on Saturday 20th April and will see athletes compete in 4 events. The events have been adapted from the JST programming designed for BoB.
There will be 2 categories in the Adaptive Division - Standing and Seated.
Seated
The Seated division is for all adaptive athletes that perform the majority of their workouts in a seated position. Athlete able to perform exercises standing will not be eligible for seated division.
Higher & Lower function level athletes will be classified as:
Higher – Unable to use abdominal muscles or below ie. T-7 -C-1 impaired
Lower -Access to all or some abdominal, hip flexors ie T-8 to amputee
The Higher athletes will receive % deductions on prescribed weights.
Standing
The Standing division is for all adaptive athletes that perform the majority of their workouts in a standing position. Single Arm & Single leg athletes will be classified as 1 point of contact on the equipment or floor. These athletes will receive % deductions on prescribed weights.
